Job description

SALARY RANGE: $24.00-$26.00 per hour. The General Accountant is responsible for ensuring key functions of Cash Handling, Accounts Payable processing, and other assigned Accounting related tasks are completed accurately and in a timely manner. This position is also responsible for maintaining accurate and timely financial reporting, ensuring acceptable levels of internal control and compliance with all federal, state and local regulations.

Essential Functions

  • Must adhere to the company’s Service culture – 4 Keys to creating guests for life. 
  • Must actively participate in team member referral program and be a Talent Ambassador for Silverado Resort.
  • Must participate in all resort required meetings and trainings.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform/business attire and nametag.
  • Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions.
  • Prepare and submit required reports in a timely manner.
  • Monitor quality of service in the department.
  • Ensure compliance with SOP’s and procedures in the department.
  • Comply with weekly and monthly forecasting procedures.
  • Effectively work with the department head to manage and communicate cash flow related issues. This includes the accurate and timely preparation of cash reconciliations, communicating and following up on any cash out of balances, maintaining the cash recycler, and timely deposits of all funds.
  • Monitor resort’s expenses and ensure the accurate recording in accordance with Resort’s established guidelines.
  • Ensure resorts’ compliance on all regulatory licenses and permits, leases, contracts, legal agreements, and the proper execution of all operational taxes. Provide assistance to management in enforcing compliance on all these items.
  • Establish and continually audit all internal financial controls including purchasing, cash handling, disbursements, inventories, resort assets and master keys.
  • Maintain compliance with Silverado Resort standards and regulations to ensure safe and efficient operation of the resort.
  • Ensure the proper utilization, maintenance, and periodic upgrades of all equipment.
  • Abide by all resort policies and safety rules.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.

 

Qualifications

  • Basic Accounting knowledge required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is preferred.

 

Working Conditions and Schedule

  • Flexible hours sometimes required.
  • The scope of the position may sometimes require a work week over 40 hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Sedentary work – Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
