Job description

Join EOS Defense Systems as an Accountant supporting a fast-growing, mission-driven defense manufacturing organization. In this role, you'll be a key partner to both Finance and Operations-driving cost visibility, ensuring compliance with government contracting standards, and delivering insights that directly impact program performance.

This is an opportunity for an experienced Aerospace and Defense accounting professional to take ownership of internal and external audit, manufacturing finance processes, influence decision-making, and help scale a complex, high-impact business.

What You'll Do:

Financial Reporting & Compliance

  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close with a focus on accuracy and timeliness
  • Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and variance analyses
  • Maintain the general ledger in accordance with GAAP (and IFRS where applicable)
  • Support audits including DCAA, external auditors, and internal reviews
  • Ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, CAS, and indirect rate structures
  • Support cycle counts and annual physical inventory

Business Partnership & Process Improvement

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to improve financial performance and reporting
  • Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes and internal controls
  • Participate in ERP enhancements, system implementations, and automation initiatives

What We're Looking For:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 3+ years of progressive accounting experience in Aerospace and Defense
  • Experience with government contracting (FAR/DFARS, CAS)
  • Experience working DCAA/DCMA audits
  • Experience supporting Incurred Cost Proposal submissions
  • Experience with Revenue Recognition (ASC 606 / IFRS 15)
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Costpoint, Epicor)
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with a detail-oriented mindset

Preferred:

  • MBA/MACc
  • Experience with IFRS
  • Exposure to manufacturing, operational analytics, and process improvement
  • Other duties as assigned, not determined at the time of hire.
