POSITION OVERVIEW:
Startec Refrigeration Services is currently recruiting an Account Manager, Industrial Services to work at our Shepard Office location (9423 Shepard Rd SE, Calgary, AB, T2C 4R6).  
The Account Manager is responsible for driving Startec Refrigeration Service’s growth by combining technical expertise with exceptional sales skills. Responsibilities will include staying attuned to industry trends, collaborating with internal teams to develop innovative solutions, and presenting Startec Refrigeration Service's product offerings to clients.
Reporting to the Industrial Sales Manager, the Account Manager will work closely with clients to understand their unique needs, prepare, and deliver proposals, and maintain strong client relationships. Additionally, the Account Manager actively contributes to the Startec Refrigeration Service’s marketing and sales strategies, ensuring that sales competencies are up-to-date.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPI):
CLIENT RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT (Weighting 50%)Client Engagement
  • Engage with clients, prospects, and leads to provide updates, address inquiries, and nurture relationships.
  • Establish and nurture long-term client relationships, providing valuable insights and solutions.
  • Conduct needs assessments, arrange client meetings, and tailor engagement strategies.
  • Address client concerns promptly, maintain accurate client records, and implement retention strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless client experience and share client insights.
  • Conduct post-job meetings, gather feedback, and use insights to improve service delivery.
  • Attend any scheduled customer meetings for both new and existing customers.
  • Act as the Startec representative, providing customer-facing messaging and proposals.
Inside Sales
  • Review incoming RFQ opportunities and assess the relevance to Startec offerings.
  • Log all activities related to new leads in the CRM tool.
  • Gather customer feedback and share with the Management team.
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT (Weighting 50%)Sales Coordination
  • Collaborate closely with the sales administrator to coordinate sales efforts and maintain communication on ongoing activities and opportunities.
  • Work with the sales team to prepare and deliver sales presentations, incorporating marketing materials effectively.
  • Prepare and deliver quotations and proposals, renew existing agreements, and negotiate contracts.
  • Actively pursue new business development opportunities and maintain a well-organized pipeline.
  • Collaborate with service coordinators and mechanics to ensure smooth project execution.
Operations Management
  • Monitor industry trends, conduct competitive analysis, and identify opportunities to differentiate services.
  • Oversee service agreements and maintenance projects to ensure quality and client satisfaction.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Journeyman Refrigeration Mechanic (or equivalent) with experience in recreational and ammonia service or gas field work or both.
  • Minimum 5+ years of working experience in the skilled trades industry
  • At least 5 years of experience in a sales-related role is considered an asset.
  • Extensive technical knowledge of refrigeration systems, components, and products.
  • Strong grasp of HVAC-R principles including energy-efficient solutions, and environmental regulations.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail, particularly in managing documentation.
  • Proven success in achieving sales targets and building long-term client relationships.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Proficient with CRM systems and the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for client site visits and industry events.
  • Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
