Account Manager
Job Summary of the position:
The Account Manager is responsible for managing customer accounts supporting U.S. Government, Department of Defense (DoD), and aerospace and defense programs throughout the proposal, contract, and order lifecycle. This role serves as the primary interface between customers and internal stakeholders, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, timely execution of proposals and contracts, exceptional customer support, and contribution to bookings, revenue, and program success.
Job Specification:
Essential job functions and responsibilities
  • Prepare, coordinate, and submit customer proposals in response to DoD and commercial RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs, ensuring compliance with customer requirements, FAR/DFARS, company procedures, and internal approval processes.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the completion of contractual and proposal documentation, including Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), Representations and Certifications, Terms and Conditions (T amp;Cs), and other customer-required documents to support timely proposal submissions and contract execution.
  • Evaluate customer purchase orders, contracts, and modifications to ensure alignment between customer requirements and Marotta's scope of work, pricing, delivery schedules, terms and conditions, and contractual obligations prior to acceptance.
  • Initiate and facilitate Contract Compliance Forms (CCFs) to verify contractual alignment and support contract acceptance and execution.
  • Administer assigned U.S. Government, DoD, and commercial customer contracts throughout the contract lifecycle, including contract modifications, engineering changes, contractual correspondence, and associated documentation.
  • Create, maintain, and process Sales Orders and Sales Order modifications, ensuring accuracy, compliance with contractual requirements, and timely updates within the ERP system.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between DoD, prime contractor, and commercial customers and cross-functional departments including Program Management, Engineering, Planning, Operations, Finance, Quality, Supply Chain, and Business Development.
  • Coordinate proposal and contract reviews, secure required approvals, and communicate contractual commitments to ensure successful execution.
  • Maintain accurate contract, proposal, customer, and commercial documentation while ensuring compliance with company policies, FAR/DFARS, customer requirements, and applicable regulations.
  • Manage customer account activities utilizing ERP systems, Salesforce CRM, government and customer portals, and other business applications to maintain customer records, track opportunities, support reporting, and ensure accurate contract execution.
  • Support bookings objectives by coordinating proposal activities, monitoring contract awards, maintaining opportunity pipelines within Salesforce, and collaborating with Business Development to maximize contract awards and revenue growth.
  • Develop, maintain, and present customer scorecards and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure account performance, support customer business reviews, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships through proactive communication, participation in Integrated Product Team (IPT) meetings, issue resolution, and coordination of customer requests.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives by supporting process standardization, documentation updates, cross-functional collaboration, mentoring team members as appropriate, and driving operational excellence.
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills Required:
Education, Certifications, and Years of Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum Required Qualifications
  • Min 2 years of experience supporting U.S. Government, Department of Defense (DoD), and aerospace and defense customers.
  • Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS).
  • Min 2 years of experience with proposal preparation, contract administration, purchase order review, contract modifications, and sales order processing.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems, CRM systems (Salesforce preferred), and customer portals.
  • Strong verbal, written, organizational, and customer relationship management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Pay Range: $87,600 - $98,990 per year
