As an Instruments Account Manager III at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you'll support sales growth and customer success for our advanced analytical and scientific instruments. Working in scientific instrument solutions, you'll help customers make informed decisions in research, quality control, and process improvement. You'll develop and expand customer relationships while representing our comprehensive portfolio of instruments, consumables, and services across diverse markets including pharmaceutical, environmental, industrial, food safety, healthcare, and academic research.
Selling Agility
  • Identify and prioritize new client opportunities and develop solution implementation and growth strategies
  • Lead and nurture account relationships to drive expansion and renewals across the full CMD portfolio (analytical instruments, consumables, services); provide product assistance, consultation, and problem-solving to customers
  • Provide quotations, negotiate contracts and close orders with end-users as well as purchasing departments, and support all procurement processes

Drives Growth
  • Expand current account penetration and share of wallet; grow organically, broader and deeper with all primary products
  • Lead direction for the territory; develop sales strategies to meet plan and expand business within assigned territory; maintain a pipeline of opportunities to meet or exceed all sales objectives
  • Use Thermo Fisher Scientific's sales tools to be responsible for the accounts, opportunities, pipelines, and forecast in an accurate and timely manner

Leadership
  • Lead teamwork and coordination with technical sales specialists, field applications, lab applications, and Unity Lab Services (as well as any other internal partner) to provide technical expertise
  • Attend and run technical business presentations, and when required, trade shows, user meetings, and other customer events
  • Work authoritatively in a team selling environment engaging the best internal company resources to address customer challenges

Requirements
Education and Experience
  • BS degree in Chemistry or related life science field required
  • Two years of selling experience strongly preferred
  • Must have solid understanding of Chromatography (GC and HPLC) and should have knowledge of Mass Spectrometry (GC/MS and LC/MS) and Chromatography Information Data Systems (CDS/LIMS)
  • Strong preference for broad familiarity with the following industries and applications: biotech, pharmaceutical, academia research, medical research, environmental, food/flavors, clinical/toxicology, forensics, and petrochemical/petroleum
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with customers and internal stakeholders
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel up to 70%
