The Account Executive is responsible for all assigned sales activities. Assignments may be account based, geography based, or a combination of the two. The Account Executive will handle total sales functions from lead generation and follow-up to completed sale.

  • Manages the activity and health of their territory's sales funnel to ensure successful attainment of their annual Sales Objective.

  • Participates, leads, and coordinates contract processes and negotiations between clients and internal Deluxe departments to include component contract input and T&C's contributions for applicable opportunities.

  • Generates leads and follows-up on all leads generated by various sources and submitted to Deluxe analyzing and qualifying potential prospects. Proficiently presents all solutions.

  • Works closely with appropriate Sales Consultant in order to coordinate demonstrations and complete RFP requests.

  • Works with Sales Director to develop an annual territory plan outlining critical areas of focus and activities to ensure attainment of their annual sales objective.

Basic Qualifications (BQs)

Education and Experience: Bachelors in Marketing, Finance, or Accounting and 3 years experience or HS/GED and 7 years experience in selling to senior level executives.

Experience in new account development sales. Experience in complex outsourcing and/or software solution sales.

Proficient with and providing basic user support of Personal Computers. Proficient in the use of Microsoft CRM, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications (PQs)

Experience: 5 years of experience selling to senior level executives. Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.

Strong negotiation and reasoning skills. Effective at navigating the prospect evaluation and approval processes, anticipate and overcome deal obstacles.

Critical Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Builds rapport with clients, team members and leadership

  • Understands the client's needs and offers a solution by matching product features and benefits to their pain points.

  • Takes a consultative approach and puts customer's needs first

  • Is able to find leads and build a strong pipeline

  • Takes accountability for their actions, progress and results

Additional Basic Qualifications:

Must be 18 years of age or older

Compensation

The compensation range for this position is $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 annually. This position will be eligible for commission or an annual performance incentive plan. The base pay actually offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, location, experience and take into account internal equity.
