Customer Relations Representative – State Farm Agent Team Member

Strasburg, VA | Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM


Join Our Team

We are a family-focused, multi-office State Farm agency looking to expand our team in Strasburg, Virginia with an experienced, customer-focused insurance professional.

This position is approximately 70% customer service and account management and 30% sales and account development. The primary focus of this role is taking excellent care of our existing customers, building strong relationships, and helping ensure their insurance needs are being met.


While service is the priority, we believe great customer service naturally creates opportunities to identify additional needs. The right person will be comfortable having coverage conversations, recognizing gaps, and recommending additional products when appropriate.


While this is traditionally an in-office position with hours of 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, some flexibility is available for the right person.

What You'll Do

Your primary responsibility will be servicing, retaining, and developing relationships with our existing customers.

Approximately 70% Service & Account Management / 30% Sales & Account Development, with responsibilities including:

Providing prompt, friendly, and professional service to existing customers

Assisting customers with policy questions, coverage changes, billing questions, and general account needs

Reviewing policies and helping customers understand their coverage

Processing policy changes and maintaining accurate customer information

Proactively following up on outstanding customer needs and account issues

Helping resolve customer concerns and identifying solutions

Building strong relationships that contribute to customer satisfaction and retention

Conducting insurance reviews to ensure customers' coverage continues to meet their needs

Identifying coverage gaps and opportunities to better protect existing customers

Cross-selling additional insurance products when appropriate

Providing quotes and recommendations for Auto, Home, Renters, Life, Health, and other insurance products

Following up on sales opportunities generated through customer conversations and account reviews

Working toward individual and agency retention, service, and production goals

Collaborating with team members across our offices to provide a consistent customer experience

Helping create long-term relationships that lead to referrals and additional business

Licensing Requirements

Current Property & Casualty Insurance License – Required

Life & Health Insurance License – Preferred

Candidates without a Life & Health license must be willing to obtain it

Previous insurance agency and customer service experience is preferred.
