This role serves as a key connection between the marketplace and TexBuilt's Preconstruction and Operations teams. The Business Development Manager develops and maintains relationships with clients, developers, brokers, architects, engineers, consultants, and other industry partners while identifying opportunities that align with TexBuilt's capabilities, values, and strategic objectives.
The Business Development Manager is expected to progress beyond lead generation by developing strategic accounts, qualifying opportunities, leading pursuit activities, and helping convert relationships into profitable projects and repeat business.
This individual must embody TexBuilt's core values, serve as a visible ambassador of the TexBuilt brand, and demonstrate initiative, discipline, strong relationship-building skills, and a commitment to long-term client success.
What You Will Be Doing in this Role:
Client amp; Relationship Development
  • Develop and maintain meaningful relationships with existing and prospective clients, developers, brokers, architects, engineers, consultants, and other key decision-makers.
  • Develop a strong understanding of client organizations, business objectives, project pipelines, decision-making processes, and key stakeholders.
  • Build strategic account plans for targeted clients and maintain consistent engagement throughout the relationship lifecycle.

  • Maintain a disciplined pipeline of prospective projects and strategic accounts.
  • Track opportunities from initial identification through pursuit, award, and transition to Preconstruction and Operations.
  • Develop business opportunities that align with TexBuilt's target markets, capabilities, geographic strategy, and profitability expectations.
  • Maintain visibility into anticipated project timing, potential revenue, probability of award, and relationship status.
  • Understand annual and long-term backlog objectives and align business development activities accordingly.

  • Evaluate prospective clients and opportunities for alignment with TexBuilt's values, capabilities, strategic objectives, and risk profile.
  • Coordinate and participate in go/no-go discussions with company leadership and Preconstruction.
  • Develop pursuit strategies for qualified opportunities, including relationship plans, competitive positioning, differentiators, and key decision-makers.
  • Coordinate with Preconstruction and Operations to ensure pursuit strategies reflect TexBuilt's capabilities and approach to project delivery.
  • Support proposal development, interviews, presentations, and other pursuit activities.
  • Maintain consistent engagement with clients throughout the pursuit and selection process.
  • Conduct post-pursuit follow-up and capture lessons learned from both successful and unsuccessful pursuits.
Strategic Account Development
  • Develop and execute relationship strategies for assigned target and existing accounts.
  • Identify client needs, challenges, priorities, and future opportunities.
  • Build relationships across multiple levels of client organizations rather than relying on a single point of contact.
  • Develop client experience plans for strategic accounts and coordinate appropriate leadership involvement.
  • Identify opportunities for repeat business and long-term partnerships.
  • Maintain relationships beyond individual projects to strengthen TexBuilt's position as a trusted construction partner.
Market Intelligence amp; Growth Opportunities
  • Monitor market conditions, development activity, competitors, and industry trends within TexBuilt's targeted markets.
  • Identify emerging sectors, geographic opportunities, and prospective clients that align with company strategy.
  • Gather market intelligence through relationships with developers, brokers, designers, consultants, trade partners, and other industry participants.
  • Communicate relevant market information and opportunities to the President, Preconstruction, and Operations leadership.
  • Collaborate with leadership to evaluate new markets, clients, and business opportunities.
  • Maintain awareness of client pain points and use that knowledge to help shape TexBuilt's approach and service offering.
CRM, Reporting amp; Business Development Discipline
  • Maintain accurate and current client, contact, opportunity, and activity information within the company's CRM system.
  • Track pipeline activity, pursuit status, hit rates, relationship development, and other key business development metrics.
  • Maintain target account and relationship maps for strategic clients.
  • Provide regular pipeline and market updates to leadership.
  • Use data and business development metrics to evaluate effectiveness and prioritize activities.
  • Ensure opportunities, relationships, commitments, and next steps are consistently documented and followed through.

  • Periodically engage clients during project execution to understand satisfaction, concerns, and future needs.
  • Coordinate client feedback with Operations and company leadership.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen relationships during and after project delivery.
  • Support post-project follow-up and positioning for repeat business.

  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to engage effectively with senior executives, clients, designers, developers, and industry partners.
