About Us

Heidelberg Materials is one of the world's largest suppliers of building materials. Heidelberg Materials North America operates over 450 locations across the U.S. and Canada with approximately 9,000 employees.

We are seeking a Director, Account Development Competence Center to drive adoption of enabling systems and tools while building a culture of disciplined account planning and continuous improvement across North America. This position is located in Irving, TX and reports directly to the Vice President, Commercial Excellence.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Build and lead a high-impact Account Development Competence Center team and define the operating model for systematic account development.

  • Serve as the North America owner for our core sales processes and account development standards, templates, frameworks, and best practices.

  • Design, implement, and continuously evolve a scalable Account Development and Pipeline Management Framework, ensuring simplicity, consistency, and measurable outcomes.

  • Build and deploy strategic pricing capabilities, including value-based pricing frameworks, pricing governance, and tools that support margin and revenue growth.

  • Develop playbooks, training, coaching routines, and strategic workshops in partnership with Sales Enablement and Sales Leadership to strengthen execution.

  • Lead targeted account growth initiatives, including strategic growth, customer retention, and cross-sell acceleration programs.

  • Partner with account teams on complex opportunities by supporting account planning, strategic proposals, and expansion strategies.

  • Collaborate with Sales Technology and Data teams to integrate methodologies into CRM workflows, improve data quality, and enhance reporting and automation.

  • Define and track performance metrics, drive continuous improvement based on results and feedback, and build alignment across Sales, Operations, and senior leadership to ensure successful execution.

What Are We Looking For

  • 10+ years of experience in sales and sales leadership.

  • Mastery of strategic account management and account growth planning.

  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate strategy into business results.

  • Proven track record of coaching, collaboration, and influencing across functions and levels of the organization.

  • Deep experience driving change, establishing processes, and leading adoption of new ways of working.

  • Executive presence and confidence engaging with senior leaders and key stakeholders.

  • Ability to simplify complexity, drive disciplined execution, lead workshops, and maintain a strong ownership mindset with a bias for action and results.
