Job description

KHON2, KHII & CW - Honolulu, Hawaii

KHON2, KHII & CW is home to Hawaii's #1 local news - winner of the Edward R. Murrow Award for Overall Excellence and Breaking News - and the producer of beloved local programs including Living808, Sam Choy's In The Kitchen, The Molokai Hoe, The Eddie Aikau Big Wave Invitational, and more. In addition to our broadcast platforms, we offer KHON2.com, KHON+ streaming, and the most advanced digital marketing solutions, giving advertisers a true multiplatform reach across broadcast, streaming, digital, and social. We're looking for a driven, relationship-minded sales professional to help local businesses grow by tapping into the full power of our broadcast and digital portfolio - and the trust our brand has earned over the last +70 years.

The Multiplatform Sales Account Executive generates advertising revenue by building relationships with established agencies, cold-calling new prospects, and helping clients understand how broadcast, digital, streaming, and integrated marketing solutions can grow their business. You'll partner with local sales management to develop customized, results-driven campaigns across all our platforms - and you'll be supported with continual professional development along the way.

We want someone with a positive can-do attitude, a strong work ethic, and a genuine desire to build win-win client partnerships.

What You'll Bring

We're looking for a professional with a strong understanding of media in all its forms - broadcast, digital, streaming, and social - and an appreciation for how today's advertisers reach audiences across platforms. Experience with in-person, one-on-one consultative selling is essential. Prior media sales experience is a plus but not required; we'll invest in the right candidate who has the drive, curiosity, and people skills to succeed.

  • Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Implements strategies to consistently grow revenue and exceed revenue goals across broadcast and digital platforms.
  • Establishes credible, client partnerships within the local business community.
  • Makes in-person and virtual sales calls on existing and prospective clients.
  • Maintains assigned accounts and develops new business.
  • Prepares and delivers compelling, customized sales presentations.
  • Educates customers on how broadcast, digital, and streaming advertising solutions can most effectively promote their products and services.
  • Provides clients with rate and placement information across all media platforms.
  • Develops advertising schedules and campaigns in partnership with clients and station personnel.
  • Collaborates with clients and station teams to produce effective commercials and digital creative.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Requirements & Skills

  • College degree preferred - ideally a Bachelor's in Marketing, Advertising, Mass Communications, or a related field - or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
  • A strong understanding of media in all forms (broadcast, digital, streaming, social) is required.
  • Experience in in-person, one-on-one sales is required; media sales experience is a plus but not required.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record and reliable transportation.
  • Demonstrated ability to set long-range objectives and execute the strategies to achieve them.
  • Solid computer skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • A positive, collaborative personality that thrives in a team setting.
  • Comfort with standard office technology and equipment.

Starting at $40,000 guarantee or draw plus commission, commensurate with experience and skill level.

This is an on-site position based in Honolulu and is not eligible for remote work. Regular in-office hours are required.
