Accessibility Design Remote information

How does an accessibility designer collaborate with cross-functional teams in a remote environment?

As a remote Accessibility Designer, you’ll frequently work with product managers, UX/UI designers, engineers, and QA testers to ensure digital products meet accessibility standards. Collaboration typically happens through regular video meetings, shared design tools, and documentation platforms. Clear communication is essential, as you may need to advocate for inclusive design decisions and provide actionable feedback on accessibility issues. Building strong relationships with team members and staying updated on accessibility best practices are key to success in this remote role.

What is accessibility design in a remote work context?

Accessibility Design in a remote work context involves creating digital products, websites, and applications that are usable by people with disabilities, ensuring they can access and interact with content effectively from any location. This includes designing with considerations for screen readers, keyboard navigation, color contrast, and alternative text for images. Remote accessibility designers collaborate with teams online to review, test, and implement accessible solutions in digital projects. Their goal is to meet legal standards like the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) while promoting inclusivity.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an accessibility designer remote?

To thrive as an Accessibility Designer (Remote), you need a solid understanding of accessibility standards (such as WCAG), user-centered design principles, and experience with digital design tools, often backed by a degree in design, computer science, or a related field. Familiarity with assistive technologies, accessibility testing tools, and certifications like IAAP CPACC can be highly valuable. Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills help you advocate for accessibility and work effectively with distributed teams. These competencies ensure digital products are inclusive, compliant, and usable by people of all abilities, enhancing user experience and meeting legal requirements.

Senior Mobile Product Designer (f/m/x)

Full-time

Posted 12 days ago

Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Mobile Product Designer (f/m/x) based in Netherlands.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Product Designer to take ownership of the end-to-end native mobile experience across iOS and Android. Working in a remote-first, high-performing environment, you will shape the future of a mobile product used by customers across Europe, identifying where native experiences can create meaningful value beyond the web. You will collaborate closely with Product Managers and Engineers to define strategy, validate ideas through experimentation, and deliver intuitive, high-impact user experiences. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguity, combines strong product thinking with data-driven decision-making, and enjoys influencing product direction through research, collaboration, and innovation.

Accountabilities
  • Own the complete user experience for the native iOS and Android applications, ensuring seamless, engaging, and high-quality customer journeys.
  • Identify opportunities where native mobile capabilities provide unique value, validating concepts through research, experimentation, and measurable outcomes before implementation.
  • Partner closely with Product Managers and Engineers to define product strategy, prioritize opportunities, and shape the roadmap as an equal contributor within the product trio.
  • Lead discovery activities by testing assumptions, gathering user insights, and using quantitative and qualitative data to guide design decisions.
  • Create innovative mobile experiences while maintaining consistency through scalable design systems and strong user-centered design principles.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure solutions are technically feasible, accessible, performant, and delivered with exceptional quality.
  • Explore and integrate AI-powered tools and workflows to improve product design processes and enhance customer experiences.
Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience designing native mobile applications for both iOS and Android, with a strong portfolio of shipped products.
  • Deep understanding of native interaction patterns, platform conventions, motion design, and mobile user experience best practices.
  • Proven ability to lead product discovery, navigate ambiguity, and define opportunities without relying on predefined roadmaps.
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience interpreting product metrics, conducting user research, and making evidence-based design decisions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present, defend, and refine design concepts through constructive collaboration.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Data, and Research teams in agile environments.
  • Practical experience using AI tools to improve design workflows and curiosity about emerging AI-driven product experiences.
  • Based in Europe with the legal right to work in a European country, alongside excellent English communication skills. German language skills are beneficial but not mandatory.
Benefits
  • Remote-first working model with the flexibility to work from anywhere in Europe or from the Vienna office.
  • Flexible working hours with a strong focus on work-life balance and autonomy.
  • Dedicated learning and development budget to support professional growth through courses, conferences, and other educational opportunities.
  • Access to professional mental health and personal development support through expert coaching sessions.
  • Regular internal workshops and knowledge-sharing initiatives to encourage continuous learning.
  • Company-wide gatherings, office weeks, team-building activities, and collaborative onsite events throughout the year.
  • Inclusive, feedback-driven culture that values innovation, collaboration, diversity, and continuous improvement.
  • Opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working on products that promote more sustainable consumer choices.
