A Quality Assurance (QA) Tester ensures that software products meet quality standards and function correctly before they are released to users. They locate software defects, document system bugs, and collaborate with developers to maintain code integrity.
The QA tester will be responsible for running functional tests, identifying software bugs, and ensuring our applications meet all technical specifications. Their work will directly impact product reliability, user satisfaction, and overall deployment quality.
Key Responsibilities
Test Execution: Perform manual and automated tests across web, mobile, or desktop applications.
Bug Tracking: Identify, log, and track software defects using tools like Jira or Azure DevOps.
Test Documentation: Create clear, repeatable test cases and test scenarios from technical requirements.
Regression Testing: Verify bug fixes and ensure updates do not break existing software features.
Collaboration: Partner with software developers and product managers to resolve technical issues quickly.
Participate in requirement reviews and sprint ceremonies to gain an understanding of upcoming work.
Basic understanding of Agile or Scrum methodologies.
Exposure to API testing tools such as Postman is advantageous.
Willingness to learn test automation tools such as Cypress, Selenium, or Playwright.
Contribute ideas for improving testing efficiency and product quality.
Technical Skills: Familiarity with test management tools, bug trackers, and basic SQL or API testing.
Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, excellent eye for detail, and clear written communication.
Qualifications & Experience
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Up to 2 years' experience in software testing, quality assurance, or a related IT role.
ISTQB Foundation Certification is advantageous but not required.
Any exposure to software testing through internships, university projects, bootcamps, or personal projects will be considered beneficial.
