Job description

Position: Interventionist
Location: Nashville, TN
Reports To: Principal
Position Type: 12-Month

WHO WE ARE
Join RePublic Schools, a network of public charter schools serving over 3,000 scholars across Jackson, Mississippi, and Nashville, Tennessee. With seven schools in our network, we are on a mission to redefine public education in the South. Rooted in love, achievement, and belonging, we address systemic inequities while cultivating inclusive environments that celebrate the identities and experiences of our scholars and community members.

We believe that timely, targeted intervention is essential to ensuring all scholars reach their full potential. Our work centers on identifying learning gaps early and providing intentional, high-quality academic support that accelerates growth across content areas. Through responsive instruction and strong relationships, we ensure scholars build the skills, confidence, and independence they need to succeedโ€”while feeling seen, valued, and affirmed in their learning environments.

THE ROLE
We are seeking an Interventionist who believes deeply in the power of timely, targeted academic support and the role high-leverage instruction and intervention play in accelerating scholar outcomes across content areas.

At RePublic Schools, we believe scholars thrive when they consistently experience grade-level instruction, meaningful engagement, and adults who hold unwavering high expectations. In this role, you will champion these beliefs by working directly with scholars and teachers to identify learning gaps, deliver targeted interventions, and expand equitable access to rigorous, grade-aligned learning experiences.

This role blends direct student intervention with instructional collaboration, requiring strong student-facing practice, the ability to analyze data and diagnose learning needs, and effective partnership with classroom teachers to ensure interventions are aligned, responsive, and impactful.

WHAT YOUโ€™LL DO
As an Interventionist, your work will focus on the following:

  • Design and deliver targeted, high-impact intervention lessons aligned to RePublicโ€™s curriculum framework and grade-level standards across content areas.
  • Use multiple data sources (screeners, progress monitoring tools, classroom assessments) to track scholar progress and adjust interventions based on individual learning needs.
  • Provide small-group and 1:1 instructional support to accelerate learning and close skill gaps.
  • Foster learning environments where scholars feel confident, supported, and motivated to meet high expectations.
  • Partner closely with classroom teachers, instructional coaches, and school leaders to align interventions with core instruction.
  • Participate in data meetings, PLCs, and professional learning sessions to analyze trends and plan responsive supports.
  • Embrace feedback as a tool for growth and continuously refine instructional strategies to maximize scholar impact.
  • Contribute to a school culture grounded in collaboration, accountability, and shared ownership for scholar outcomes.
  • Develop trust-based relationships with scholars that promote engagement, confidence, and academic perseverance.
  • Communicate regularly with families and teachers about scholar progress and intervention goals.
  • Serve as a positive role model by demonstrating resilience, professionalism, and an unwavering belief in scholar potential

THE PERSON
RePublic Schools seeks team members from a wide range of backgrounds, talents, experiences, and perspectives. Our most successful Interventionists share a deep commitment to our mission and demonstrate a strong belief in the power of targeted academic support to change scholar trajectories.

Successful candidates bring a results-oriented mindset, genuine care for scholars, resilience in the face of challenge, and humility grounded in continuous growth. They approach their work with urgency and intentionalityโ€”using data, strong instructional practices, and meaningful relationships to accelerate scholar learning. Interventionists ground their work in deep standards of knowledge and best instructional practices to ensure every scholar receives high-quality, responsive instruction aligned to grade-level expectations.

THE MUST HAVES

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree from an accredited four-year college or university
  • Valid state teaching license or certification (Tennessee or Mississippi) with 3-5 years of teaching experience
  • Strong ability to navigate instructional technology, student information systems, and data platforms
  • Ability to design and deliver targeted instruction using a variety of digital tools and learning platforms
  • Comfort with progress monitoring, data analysis, and instructional adjustment
  • Openness to giving and receiving frequent, actionable feedback within a continuous improvement culture
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, flexibility, and emotional composure in fast-paced or high-pressure environments
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning, growth, and professional development
  • Additional duties and responsibilities assigned

THE MUST HAVE BELIEFS

  • Deep belief in and commitment to RePublic Schoolsโ€™ mission and values
  • Conviction that belonging and academic excellence are mutually reinforcing
  • Relentless drive for strong scholar outcomes through intentional intervention and instructional excellence
  • Belief that high expectations + accountability + targeted support = scholar success

EVERY OPPORTUNITY STARTS WITH BELIEF
Great schools begin with great people, educators who believe every day is an opportunity to make a lasting difference. At RePublic Schools, youโ€™ll join a community of purpose-driven educators committed to delivering rigorous, grade-level instruction while nurturing a culture rooted in love, achievement, and belonging.
Together, we work to ensure every scholar experiences academic excellence, feels deeply supported throughout their educational journey, and is empowered to pursue a future filled with choice and opportunity.
