Overview

SYSTEM/NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR (GXP 2026-25558):

 

Bowhead seeks a Systems Administrator to join our team in supporting the Strategic Systems Guidance, Navigation and Control Division (GXP) at NSWC Crane. The Systems Administrator attends weekly GXP Division Staff Meetings when requested by division or branch managers in GXP. The RDT&E Systems Administrator attends meetings which are dedicated to Information Assurance (IA) compliance execution or status, technical problem meetings, and new information communications meetings associated with IA compliance for GXP Division. The Systems Administrator supports the GXP government representative at IA compliance meetings in the capacity of an advisor for the GXP Division, as a presenter, listener, and minutes/note keeper. If supporting the GXP government representative at such IA meetings, the RDT&E Systems Administrator presents briefings, records, and distributes minutes, as well as complete assigned action items or short-term specific assignments resulting from the meetings that focus on IA compliance.

Responsibilities

Essential functions will include: 

  • Support all functions required to support GXP RDT&E IA functions in accordance with DOD Directives 8500.01E and 8500.
  • Support all functions required to support SRDTE functions including Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and Assurance Compliance Assessment Solutions (ACAS) against SRDTE workstations.  Initiate, monitor and review ACAS vulnerability scans on GXPT (ARCGER) SRDTE assets. Interpret scan results, prioritize findings, and create remediation tickets (e.g, patch, configuration change).
  • Document scan outcomes and provide a weekly summary to M&S lead.
  • Support all functions required to support SSP Red including Network Diagnostics/Troubleshooting, support End User Accounts, and asset inventory.
  • Responsible for all IA compliance actions associated with the RDT&E Laboratories in GXP, working closing with SP27 ISSOs, and project leads for all documentation, reviews, and timelines.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology and a minimum of five (5) to eight (8) years of professional experience.  Experience may be considered in liue of education.
  • Fundamental knowledge in the maintenance and management of computer software / hardware and video systems is required.
  • Working knowledge of on the following systems: STIGs, Windows 10/11, Sever 2019, DoD requirements on cybersecurity, ATO documentation knowledge.
  • Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Secret level.  US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
