JOB SUMMARY: Provides immediate supervision of employees and projects to ensure excellence in customer service and adherence to company and customer policies and procedures. This job is based in Lafayette, La.
REPORTS TO: SMS Medical Director
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Except as specifically noted, the following functions are considered essential to this position.
  • Coordinate all QMS functions including audit planning, execution, follow-up, and re-audit
  • Perform required QA/QC evaluations on HealthCall electronic medical records
  • Investigate, document, and resolve QMS audit findings
  • Communicate compliance issues affecting regional or company-wide operations
  • Serve as SMS subject matter expert for HealthCall and Custodian of Medical Records
  • Develop and deliver expanded scope of practice protocols, algorithms, and curricula for remote paramedic staff
  • Conduct post-patient encounter follow-up with clients, Medical Control physicians, and PAs as required
  • Maintain Medical Control logs, records, and organization of all Medical Control accounts
  • Communicate weekly results and findings with the Medical Director
  • Coordinate new employee orientation, preceptor assignments, and onboarding completion
  • Develop and deliver Remote Paramedic Clinical Extension and Annual Clinical Staff Meeting curricula
  • Monitor field mentoring and training processes for quality assurance and improvement
  • Serve as official SMS Training Officer on record with NREMT
  • Coordinate with Acadian Companies QHS&E leadership on operational guides, forms, safety briefs, and hazard communications
  • Support the Materials Tracking Coordinator on all equipment and supply inventory issues
  • Liaise with customer management and HSE teams to promote continuous improvement
  • Participate in annual performance appraisals, improvement planning, and disciplinary actions as needed
  • Assist with recruiting, candidate interviews, and ensuring staff adherence to SMS and customer policies
  • Attend customer-required meetings, SMS management functions, and assist fellow supervisors with administrative tasks as needed
  • Support the RFP process alongside Sales and Marketing as a clinical subject matter expert
  • Support and assist with QA/QC within Acadian Health and collaborate with Acadian Health QIC.

These duties, responsibilities, requirements, and conditions are not intended to be all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties, responsibilities, requirements and conditions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. High School Diploma or GED, Bachelor's highly preferred.
  2. Current, valid, and in good standing state-issued Paramedic licensure issued by appropriate state EMS body (e.g., State of Louisiana Bureau of EMS).
  3. Current, valid, and in good standing National Registry Of EMTs issued Paramedic certification
  4. Current, valid, and in good standing American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support credential
  5. Current, valid, and in good standing American Heart Association Basic Life Support CPR credential
  6. Current, valid, and in good standing American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support Instructor credential (must obtain within one calendar year of hire)
  7. Current, valid, and in good standing American Heart Association Basic Life Support CPR Instructor credential (must obtain within one calendar year of hire)
  8. Ability to obtain provider and instructor credentials of any courses required by clients and industry standards\ trends
  9. Current and valid state-issued driver's license determined by appropriate state requirements (equivalent of a Louisiana Class "D" driver's license)
  10. Current and valid Transportation Security Administration-issued Transportation Worker Identification Credential, (TWICยฎ; as required by the Maritime Transportation Security Act)
  11. Must be able to read, write and communicate professionally and effectively with employees and managers. Must possess the ability to write simple correspondence or reports. Must possess the ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees and/or managers
  12. Must be knowledgeable of SMS protocols, operational procedures, and safety policies
  13. Must be knowledgeable of multiple SMS client protocols, operational procedures, and safety policies
  14. Must be able to drive large vehicles in normal and adverse conditions
  15. Must be flexible with schedule and willing to travel.
