Job description

Saalex is seeking a Senior Researcher in Newport, RI to support advanced warfare analysis and operational research efforts. The selected candidate will provide subject matter expertise in military operations research, support PhD-level faculty within the Strategic and Operational Research Department, and contribute to advanced projects requiring senior-level operational knowledge and rigorous academic research methodologies.

Position Type: Full-Time

Salary: $110k-$120k annually (depending upon experience)

Work Location: Onsite

Essential Functions:

  • Provide subject matter expertise in warfare analysis and military operations research.
  • Conduct extensive research in a rigorous academic environment.
  • Serve as an expert analyst supporting advanced projects involving military operations.
  • Facilitate post-graduate level advanced research activities.
  • Support Strategic and Operational Research Department PhD-level faculty.
  • Provide senior-level expertise and analysis in joint military operations.
  • Other duties as assigned or required.

Requirements

Required:

  • Extensive research experience in a rigorous academic environment.
  • Experience supporting advanced research projects involving military operations.
  • Senior-level expertise in joint operations.
  • Bachelor's Degree is required.

Desired:

  • Experience working with military educational institutions, operational analysis organizations, or defense research environments.
  • Experience facilitating graduate-level or post-graduate research programs.
  • Strong analytical, technical writing, and research methodology skills.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required.


Security Clearance:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Active Top Secret Security Clearance. Requirements to obtain a clearance include U.S. Citizenship, successful completion of a security investigation, and meeting all government security requirements.
