Job description

At Absher, our Superintendents lead the work where it matters most, in the field. This role is responsible for managing day to day construction operations on complex commercial projects and ensuring work is completed safely, with quality, and on schedule.

You will serve as the on-site leader coordinating field teams, trade partners, and project staff to keep work moving efficiently while maintaining strong relationships with owners, designers, and inspectors. The right person for this role brings strong field leadership, sound judgment, and pride in building projects the right way.

What You'll Do

  • Lead on-site construction activities from mobilization through project closeout
  • Supervise, train, and mentor field staff, craft labor, and subcontractors
  • Set clear expectations around safety, quality, productivity, and professionalism on site
  • Ensure work is performed safely and in alignment with contract requirements and project plans
  • Partner closely with Project Managers, owners, inspectors, and design teams to maintain strong communication
  • Develop and manage CPM schedules, pull plans, and detailed look-ahead schedules
  • Coordinate inspections, testing, documentation, and daily reporting
  • Monitor labor productivity and material usage to support project financial goals
  • Identify and resolve field issues quickly to protect schedule, quality, and team performance
  • Participate in preconstruction planning including constructability reviews and sequencing strategies

Why You'll Be Successful

  • You bring strong field experience and leadership presence. You know how to coordinate multiple trades, keep work organized, and maintain momentum on complex projects. You communicate clearly, hold teams accountable, and take pride in delivering projects that meet high standards for safety, quality, and schedule performance.
  • 8+ years of construction experience with significant time spent in a Superintendent or field leadership role
  • Proven experience leading ground-up commercial construction projects
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling (to include master schedules), and trade coordination
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, mentorship, and building strong field teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of Procore and Primavera P6 preferred
  • OSHA 30 and First Aid/CPR certification, or ability to obtain
  • Junior college, vocational education, or technical training in construction a plus

Salary offers are typically made between the entry and midpoint of the range and are based on factors such as experience, education, and internal equity.

Pay Transparency
$120,000—$160,000 USD

For positions with access to company financial accounts or credit card programs, a credit history check may also be conducted.
