Job description

Abacoa Golf Club is looking for an experienced Line/Grill Cook who is energetic, dependable, and committed to excellence. We are a busy operation and the candidate must be able to perform a variety of culinary tasks. Typical schedule is 40 hours a week and will include weekends and some evenings.

We are looking for an individual who has established culinary skills with a background as a line cook, some banquet experience and willingness to learn and grow.

Qualifications:

  • Kitchen experience or equivalent formal education.
  • Solid interpersonal skills and positive attitude.
  • Ability to stand all day.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Self-motivated, organized, fast and even-tempered.
  • Good communication and listening skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Organize and clean all food prep areas and equipment daily.
  • Maintain par stocks and prep levels.
  • Set up daily line for ala carte lunch service.
  • Prep for the many varied events taking place each week.
  • Work a position on the line.
  • Maintain consistency of product with great attention to food quality, taste and presentation.
  • Keep the kitchen, coolers and freezers organized and clean, along with labeling and dating items.
  • Ensure that proper procedures of safety and sanitation are being followed.
  • Work as a team player with a positive attitude and work well with others.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.
  • Must be able pass a drug test and background test.

Abacoa Golf Club has a tight-knit family friendly environment! Quality of life is important to us. The restaurant is also closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Eve.
