Job description

Abacoa Executive Solutions has partnered with a residential construction company to hire an experienced Construction Estimator.


Our client is a design and build company specializing in high-end residential projects. This position involves working in their Jupiter, FL office and meeting onsite with new clients to create a comprehensive project scope and provide accurate estimates for clients' review.


The Estimator will be responsible for meeting clients onsite to discuss project scope and generate full estimates in a timely manner. This role includes bidding out projects and reviewing proposals to award contracts to subcontractors. Additionally, the Estimator will host follow-up meetings with clients to review the overall estimate and address any construction-related questions. This position encompasses all administrative and field construction activities related to assigned projects.


  • Analyzes project plans, blueprints, and specifications to determine project costs.
  • Must be experienced in using Plan Swift or Stack software for bidding.
  • Must be experienced in Bluebeam for takeoffs and accurate quantity purchasing.
  • Calculates the total cost of labor, materials, and equipment.
  • Works with internal teams and external subcontractors to gather quotes and information.
  • Prepares detailed bids and proposals to win new contracts.
  • Manages documentation and assumptions to justify cost estimates.
  • Update internal list of subcontractors.
  • Award bids to subcontractors.
  • Order materials and review billing with the office accountant.
  • Submit contracts and follow up.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor of Science in Construction Management, Industry related college degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Must have experience in estimating software such as Plan Swift, Stack and Bluebeam.
  • Experience in Excel.
  • Must have at least 3 years of knowledge and experience in construction project management. Must have valid drivers license and able to work in the USA.
  • Highly detailed & hard working.


Office Hours are M-F 7:30AM-4PM and must be able to complete deadlines. Saturday hours if necessary.

Salary is negotiable with experience. Bonuses and commission opportunity available.
