Position:ย 
ImmunEdge has an exciting opportunity for an experienced vivarium manager and preclinical study specialist to join our Translational Science team. This individual will serve dual roles, providing operational leadership for our in-house vivarium while also coordinating non-clinical studies conducted with external contract research organizations (CROs). The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership capabilities, organizational skills, deep expertise in laboratory animal science, and experience supporting the planning and execution of preclinical studies in a fast-paced biotech environment.
Key Responsibilities:ย 

  • Provide direct oversight over all vivarium operations, including animal husbandry, colony management, facility maintenance, and training/support for internal users
  • Lead IACUC-related activities, including preparation of protocols, amendments, renewals, and annual reports, and ensure compliance with USDA, AAALAC, OLAW, and institutional standards
  • Serve as the primary person responsible for receiving and maintaining AAALAC certification for our facility
  • Serve as the primary point of contact during inspections and partner closely with the consulting veterinarian to maintain high standards of animal welfare
  • Maintain vivarium infrastructure and documentation, including SOPs, training records, environmental monitoring, and animal usage tracking
  • Contribute to in vivo study planning and provide hands-on support as needed (e.g., dosing, sample collection)
  • Coordinate outsourced non-clinical studies with CRO partners, which includes support for protocol and schedule development, tracking study progress, and facilitating communication between internal and external stakeholders
  • Review study data and reports for quality and completeness, and assist with data organization and interpretation

Qualifications:ย 
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in biomedical sciences or a related field
  • 8+ years of industry experience in laboratory animal science or vivarium operations, including significant hands-on work with rodent models
  • Demonstrated experience managing vivarium operations and supervising laboratory animal staff
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and inspection processes (USDA, AAALAC, OLAW, IACUC)
  • Experience coordinating and supporting outsourced preclinical/nonclinical studies
  • High proficiency in in vivo techniques, including test article administration (IV, IP, PO, SC, topical) and blood collection methods
  • Experience with colony management, animal tracking, and vivarium documentation systems
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and technical writing skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment
  • RLATG certification strongly preferred; Experience with GraphPad Prism or similar data analysis tools preferred
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods of time


Expected Salary Range: $150,000 - $160,500
Compensation will be based on a variety of factors, including experience, qualifications, internal equity, and location.ย ย
