Job Summary

Gateway Community & Technical College is seeking an exceptional and energetic individual to join our Business Administration program in the accounting track. The ideal candidate must be committed to student success, responsiveness to student needs, and able to teach courses in accounting and finance. Additionally, the candidate must demonstrate the ability to support enrollment growth, build relationships/partnerships with businesses and industries, and promote the Business Administration program in the Northern Kentucky area. Candidates who may find their backgrounds or credentials may not fully align are still encouraged to apply and allow us to review!

**Applicants selected for an interview will be required to give a short (approximately 15 minutes) teaching demonstration on the topic to be determined prior to the interview.
10-month faculty contracts span the academic year, typically from August to May, with no course assignments during June and July. Although the contract covers 10 months, the salary is spread over 12 months, ensuring a consistent monthly salary.

Benefits are provided year-round. Renewal of the contract depends on factors such as student enrollment and available funding.
Faculty may be assigned courses that include both traditional college students and high school students earning dual credit. This dynamic mix offers a unique opportunity to engage learners at different stages of their academic journey.

Position is for the fall semester 2026 (August start)

Job Duties:

  • Teach assigned accounting and finance courses.
  • Advise business administration students.
  • Facilitate instruction using multiple modalities (in-person, hybrid, and online).
  • Post and maintain office hours.
  • Participate in the assessment of course and program student learning outcomes.
  • Assist in departmental functions including attending advisory committee meetings, maintaining relations with industry partners, and prospective student recruitment activities.
  • Participate in the life of the college through internal service opportunities.
  • Represent the college through external service opportunities in the community.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development.
  • Assume leadership roles where appropriate.
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, or a relevantly similar field, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two years of relevant industry experience specifically in accounting.
  • Willingness to adjust learning methodologies that best fit our student's needs and to learn new methods of teaching.
  • Excellent organizational skills; high attention to detail; independent; self-motivated; able to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, ability to work independently and adapt seamlessly to fast-paced, dynamic environments.
  • Skilled in engaging and supporting students from different cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Forms, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Word).
     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or master's degree in accountancy.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in accounting.
  • Fluency in Spanish or French is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (such as Blackboard, Canvas, etc.)
  • Significant teaching experience, particularly at the college level
  • Strong dedication to enhancing student learning and achievement
  • Experience in academic advising and supporting student success
  • Previous experience in a community college setting
