Job description

Cometic is looking for a responsible R amp;D Engineering Technician to join our team. If love to work on engines and work behind a desk. This is the best of both worlds and the position for you.

The ideal candidate would be mechanically inclined, have a trained eye for detail, be a critical thinker who is dependable, committed, and takes pride in their work, supporting innovation in the process.

As a R amp;D Engineering Technician you will:

  • Run various test procedures required for product validation using tools such as an engine dynamometer.
  • Develop SOP’s for various processes related to R amp;D.
  • Responsible for operating and maintaining equipment related to engine machining and testing.
  • Assemble and disassemble test engines.
  • Work with technical staff to provide analytical product support as needed.
  • Provide summarized results obtained from outside lab testing.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions
  • Understand units of measurement (English / Metric) for reviewing drawings and specifications (tolerances) to compare produced goods.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Must work with minimum supervision and be able to manage their time when given multiple tasks.
  • Must have excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office Suites, and Google email.
  • A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to use general shop equipment to make parts- i.e., manual lathes and mills.
  • Able to use measuring and inspection equipment like dial bores, micrometers, and calipers.
