Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Custom Molding Manager will serve as the primary technical contact for all custom molding business. This position oversees a team of employees and leads them in the design, manufacturing, and quality control processes for Tier 1 customers. The Custom Molding Manager will also work closely with RealTruck Sales on new products for future business growth.
CORE FUNCTIONS:
• Manage and oversee the product design and manufacturing process for custom molded business and continuous improvement. Will also evaluate and monitor the product from initial quoting through the manufacturing process to ensure customer quality specifications are being met.
• Manage and partner with the Tier 1 customer on product specifications and designs as well as changes to these.
• Direct the PPAP (production part approval process) approval process.
• Work with Quality to resolve customer complaints and quality concerns.
• Work with Purchasing to source external components per the customer specifications.
• Work with technical resources, both internal and external, on new technologies and process improvements.
• Partner with sales on new product feasibility and quotes for future business growth.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
Education and Experience
• Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment leading new product development, manufacturing processes and quality controls.
• Previous experience in Tier 1 design and manufacturing processes.
• Experience in fiberglass design and manufacturing with the following processes tooling, molding, extrusion, sheet metal and assembly.
• Previous experience in a training role required.

• Skilled in ERP or MRP software.

Travel:
• Travel locally between RealTruck facilities will be required on a regular basis; extended travel 10% of the time.

• Individual Contributor: working team member with no oversight of others and no management responsibilities.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• This position is subject to Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls require exertion of force greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.

• This position is subject to the following physical activities: balancing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and the use of hands, wrists, or fingers in repetitive motions.

• The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly of fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
Working Conditions:
The worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, including heat, noise, vibration, and hazards from a production-based environment. The worker will work in an office environment the majority of the time, utilizing conditions common with office work, but will be actively engaged with the production and will spend time in that environment.
