Job Description

Summary of Position: Crooked Hammock Brewery Raleigh is firing up something brand new — our first-ever pizza oven — and we’re looking for skilled and passionate Pizza Cooks to help bring it to life. This role is more than just working a station. As a Pizza Cook, you’ll lead the execution of our handcrafted pizza program, from dough stretching to oven management to final presentation. You’ll be responsible for mastering the art of high-heat cooking, building consistent, craveable pies, and maintaining the quality and integrity of every pizza that leaves the oven. Like all Line Cooks at Crooked Hammock, you are a leader in the kitchen — fueling food passion, supporting your team, and continuously learning every station. This role requires precision, pride, speed, and creativity. Must Enjoy the Ride!

Duties amp; Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, stretch, top, and fire pizzas according to Crooked Hammock recipes and quality standards
  • Operate and manage a high-temperature pizza oven safely and efficiently
  • Monitor oven performance, cook times, and product consistency throughout service
  • Assume 100% responsibility for the quality and presentation of every pizza served
  • Maintain proper dough handling, proofing, portioning, and storage procedures
  • Ensure standard portion sizes, topping distribution, and recipe adherence
  • Stock and maintain sufficient levels of dough, sauces, cheeses, and toppings for smooth service
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary pizza station including prep tables, refrigeration, utensils, and oven area
  • Assist in prep of sauces, dough, toppings, and specialty ingredients
  • Follow proper plate presentation and garnish standards
  • Handle, store, and rotate all products properly (FIFO)
  • Support other Back of House stations when needed
  • Assist in opening and closing procedures, including oven shut-down and cleaning protocols
  • Attend scheduled employee meetings and contribute ideas for feature pizzas and menu innovation
  • Live the brand and be a brand ambassador; must Enjoy the Ride!

Qualifications:

  • 1–3 years full-service restaurant kitchen experience preferred
  • Prior pizza or high-heat oven experience strongly preferred
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Culinary degree preferred
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and eligible to work in the United States
  • Must have reliable transportation to/from work
  • Strong understanding of cooking methods, dough handling, and knife skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Ability to perform tasks with accuracy, speed, and attention to detail
  • Ability to read and follow recipes and prep lists
  • Calm, focused demeanor under pressure
  • Strong organizational skills and self-motivation
  • Team-oriented mindset
  • Ability to stand, bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs
