Senior Clinical Informatics Analyst

Description:
  • The Senior Clinical Informatics Data Analyst supports workflow improvement, clinical data analysis, data validation, and reporting initiatives that inform clinical practice and operational decision-making across Health Service.
  • This clinical-facing role focuses on improving clinical workflows, enhancing end-user experience, and supporting evidence-based healthcare operations.
  • The position collaborates closely with Health Services EHR teams and technical teams responsible for EHR configuration, implementation, and development.
Responsibilities:
  • Document current clinical workflows and identify opportunities for workflow improvement and standardization across facilities.
  • Develop and maintain an inventory of Health Services Unit (HSU) clinical workflows and provide prioritized recommendations for optimization.
  • Extract, analyze, and interpret data from Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems to answer clinical and operational business questions.
  • Create reports, dashboards, and data visualizations that support leadership decision-making and clinical practice improvement.
  • Validate EHR data against external data sources to ensure accuracy, completeness, and reliability.
  • Perform data validation through triangulation with other data elements and records within the EHR system.
  • Conduct testing and validation of EHR system updates, enhancements, and configuration changes from an end-user perspective.
  • Support validation efforts for Medication Administration Record (MAR) and related clinical technology initiatives.
  • Serve as a clinical point of contact for EHR-related questions, issues, and requests from medical staff.
  • Collaborate with clinical, operational, and technical stakeholders to improve system functionality and user experience.
  • Establish standardized processes for EHR implementation, workflow management, reporting, and data governance.
  • Document processes and procedures to ensure continuity of operations and knowledge transfer.
Skills/Knowledge/Experience:
  • Deep understanding of clinical workflows, healthcare operations, and patient care processes.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, healthcare data standards, and clinical documentation practices.
  • Ability to translate clinical questions into meaningful data analysis and actionable insights.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Experience communicating complex clinical and analytical findings to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary clinical and technical teams.

Required Skills/Knowledge/Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience independently structuring unclassified medical data from unstructured clinical text and mapping data elements to standard medical vocabularies.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience extracting, querying, and analyzing data from Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience validating EHR data through triangulation, reconciliation, and quality assurance processes.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience documenting clinical workflows, EHR data entry processes, and healthcare data management practices.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience communicating clinical and analytical findings to medical staff, leadership, and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience applying national EHR standards and best practices within healthcare information systems.
  • Demonstrated experience standardizing processes during EHR implementation and optimization efforts.
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing and documenting multidisciplinary clinical workflows.
  • Demonstrated experience validating EHR data against external data sources.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary clinical environments with multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Experience supporting EHR testing, validation, user acceptance testing (UAT), and end-user support activities.
  • Experience working with EHR systems in a clinical capacity.
Education/Certification:
  • Bachelor’s degree in health informatics, Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Public Health, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field required.
  • Master’s degree in health informatics, Clinical Informatics, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Data Analytics, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Clinical licensure or healthcare credential (RN, PharmD, MD, PA, NP, or equivalent) preferred.
  • Relevant healthcare informatics, analytics, EHR, or clinical systems certifications preferred.
