Job description

Under general direction, utilizes clinical expertise, programming and informatics knowledge, and strategic insight to design, optimize, and maintain clinical information systems within the Health System. Helps identify the clinical data requirements of the patients across the Healthcare System as it relates to institutional strategic goals for Quality and Safety.

  • Engages with subject matter experts, clinical and operational end users, and conduct workflow analysis to implement HIT best practices across the organization

  • Research requested system modifications for the organization and presents to the appropriate committee(s)

  • Prepares and submits detailed specifications from which build will be accomplished

  • Educates clinicians and patients across the enterprise about the clinical information systems and relevant Informatics issues

  • Analyze end-user patterns, while assuring data integrity, to help design improvement strategies, ensuring information gathered reflects practice quality

  • Advocate for users in planning, implementing, evaluating, and maintaining optimal user experience environments.

  • Utilize data from within the EHR, including analyzing, generating or contributing to performance, workflow, quality, management and other reports.

  • Routinely round with stakeholders in the clinical areas, leveraging their insights to inform data-driven decision-making and identify opportunities for continuous improvements

  • Mentor and develop departmental/site superusers

  • Coordinates regular review/assessment of training content/materials with training team

  • In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited nursing program. Master's degree in informatics preferred.

Experience: 7 years relevant experience

Licensure: Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Relevant certification preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Job requires sitting for prolonged periods. Proficient communicative auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly.

The pay range for this role is $93,156.00 - $186,311.00 annually. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
