What is a 77063 mammography procedure?

77063 is a CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) code used for a screening digital breast tomosynthesis, also known as 3D mammography. It is commonly performed as part of routine breast cancer screening, especially for women at average risk. The 3D images can provide more accurate results, reduce the need for additional imaging, and help identify abnormalities that may not be visible on traditional 2D mammograms.
