Job Objective:

The purpose of the Consulting Engineer team is to support consulting activities for Oracle Communications products and services, specifically around Oracle Communications Cloud Native Environment and Solutions, including cnDSR, PCF, SCP, NRF, NSSF, NEF, BSF, and cnUDR. IWF etc.

The role requires individual contributions for the Test Case Development for 5G Network Functions.

The team takes care of tasks such as Test Plan creation based on the New Build, setting up the lab Environment, Upgrades of the Network functions, Test Case Development using Python/Jenkins, interworking with the Engineering Team, Bug fixing, Delivering Workshops to the Customer.

The position requires having a very good knowledge and skills in the Automation Framework, Python, and using the BEHAVE Framework, Cloud Native Architecture, including Docker and Kubernetes as an Architect, Common Services as part of CNCF - Jegar, Kibana, Prometheus, Oracle Communications 5G Products such as SCP, NRF, NSSF, PCF, UDR, BSF, IWF, NEF, and cnDSR, and 4G EPC Network - PCRF, DSR.

The mission is not limited to the said products and would also extend to any product Oracle Communications is working on, over the baremetal, virtualized, or cloud infrastructure as IaaS, PaaS, or SaaS.

Job Description: Reporting to the Consulting Practice Manager (CGBU), the Consulting Engineer is responsible for:
  • Installation, Configuration, and Upgrades of the Oracle Cloud Native Environment (OCCNE) with the new releases
  • Experience with DevOps Tools
  • Setting up the Lab Environment with the OCCNE, 5G NFs - PCF, SLF, SCP, NRF, BSF
  • Creation of the Test Plan for new 5G NF Features in the PI Releases
  • Installation, Configuration of CNE Common Services - Prometheus, ELK, Grafana, Kibana, Jaeger
  • Co-ordinate with the Engineering teams for the Fixes and troubleshooting
  • Delivery Workshops to the Customers
  • Test Case Development using Jenkins, GitHub, and Python using Behave Framework
  • Development of CI/CD Pipelines
  • Customize microservices such as Grafana/ Prometheus/ ELK/Jaeger to assist with new metrics/ alerts/ logs/ tracing capabilities.
  • Create and implement a technical solution based on customer requirements.
  • Create presales deliverables such as Proposal, Effort Estimation,
  • Profitability analysis, collateral creation, solution demo, PoC, RFP responses, HLD, Scope, MoPs, Acceptance Test Plans, etc.
  • Effectively communicate and work with the internal and external customers in a multiple-project environment.
  • Perform the duties assigned by management effectively and most efficiently to meet organizational goals.
  • Should be able to conduct Special internal and customer workshops when not covered by the Training department.
  • Should be ready to travel on short notice when needed.
Qualification, Experience, Communication, and Inter-personal skills are desired
  • BS/ B.Tech in Electronic & Communication Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
  • Good knowledge of computer networks, like the OSI model and respective protocols
  • Very good knowledge of cloud computing
  • Good knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English are required. Must be able to clearly and effectively communicate work status, risks, and issues
  • Knowledge of Shell Script, Python script, Perl scripting, and PHP scripting
