Position: Patient Transfer Center RN

Shift: Full-time 0.6 FTE Night Shift 7p-7a – Every 3rd weekend with rotating holidays

We are seeking a dedicated Patient Transfer Center RN to evaluate, coordinate, and process patient transfers into and out of the IU Health System, ensuring seamless communication and optimal patient care during transfer and transport.

Position Overview:

The Patient Transfer Center RN provides expert coordination for patient transfers, collaborating with healthcare providers, facilities, and families to ensure appropriate level of care and timely transport. This role involves obtaining accurate medical and demographic information, communicating effectively with physicians and departments, and managing all components of patient transfer and transport to support safe, efficient, and patient-centered care. The RN will also coordinate bed assignments for scheduled and unscheduled admissions and transfers, contributing to operational efficiency within the system.
