Job description

3rd Shift Machine Operator Backup Lead


Location: Eagan, Minnesota


Third Shift – Sunday-Thursday 10:00PM-6:00AM (need to start 30 minutes prior to shift start)

You must be able to train on the First Shift (Monday-Friday 6:00AM-2:00PM), approximately one month or as long as needed.


As a Machine Operator Lead you will maintain work cell(s) within the manufacturing environment including set up’s, trouble shooting, and operating of CNC Machining Centers and other manufacturing equipment. These will include but are not limited to: Haas vertical machining centers, Fanuc robotic arms, Amada turret punch, and other manually operated machines.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Set-up and operate CNC vertical machining centers.

Ability to read and interpret component prints or drawings, make calculations, and resolve technical problems.

Must be proficient in the use of measuring devices (i.e., calipers and micrometers).

Must understand G&M Codes and Macro programing.

Demonstrate ability to enter and edit programs to ensure proper machine operation.

Mounting, installing, aligning, and securing tools, attachments, fixtures, and workpieces on machines, using hand tools and precision measuring instruments.

Utilize knowledge of machining processes to produce quality parts.

Conduct first piece & hourly inspection to ensure quality standards.

Successfully demonstrated trouble shooting and problem-solving ability.

Understands the preventative maintenance requirements of CNC machining centers and Implements maintenance based on defined schedules.

Understands the 5S and Workplace Organization of work-centers and demonstrates ability to maintain each work area within these guidelines.

Must demonstrate ability to complete parts to the established production rates.

Maintain metric documentation and daily reporting of work center performance, KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators) Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost.


EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma/Equivalent.

Three (3) or more years as a CNC Machinist experience is required.

Advanced degree/trade school preferred.

Ability to work overtime and weekends, as needed.

Reliable and dependable attendance.

Ability to communicate verbally and in written form with supervisors and co-workers.

Mechanical aptitude preferred.

Safety First attitude.

Setup and Troubleshooting.

Physical requirements include frequent reaching, gripping, and carrying up to 50 lbs., plus frequent standing, stooping, bending, squatting, and walking.


We offer a comprehensive compensation package, including Medical, Dental, 401K and bonuses.

$23 - $29/hr. with $1.75 shift diff


Prefer to focus on Haas - wood industry is not quite transferrable

Mostly Machine Op work - backfilling for lead when necessary
