Position Summary:

Our Landfill Gas Drilling/Construction division offers a unique work environment that specializes in a wide variety of projects where we are drilling for natural gas on landfills, installing new piping to collect the gas, fusing and welding HDPE pipe –allowing the gas to be transported to the power plant. Your role will be operating an excavator, fusing pipe and assisting other team members.

• Be punctual on all days work is assigned.
• New construction of gas wells, piping and gas flares on landfill and coal ash sites.
• Other new construction activities on landfill gas (LFG) and landfill fluids collection systems.
• $75/day per diem for meals and incidentals.
• Stay in company provided lodging.

• Perform maintenance on system components to ensure or restore proper operation and compliance.
• Maintain, clean, and organized equipment and supplies.

• Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Class A CDL.

• Must have pipe welding and fitting experience.

• The Equipment Operator must have a good working knowledge of heavy construction equipment (excavators, dozers, road trucks, etc), survey equipment, pipe fusion equipment & techniques, compacting and materials handling equipment.
• Must be familiar with or able to become familiar with general landfill gas and leachate collection system, construction techniques and components.
• Must be familiar with or able to become familiar with applicable environmental and health & safety regulations and regulatory requirements.

• To drive for company business, you must maintain a safe driving record as defined by Tetra Tech’s Vehicle Safety program. This offer of employment is contingent upon successful evaluation of a motor vehicle (MVR) check, if required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• HDPE pipe fusion experience.
• Proficient in the use of the PC, specifically with the Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, and Outlook).

Physical Requirements:

• Lift a minimum of 50 pounds on a non-consistent basis.
• Walk long distances, up and down steeply sloped landfills (2:1 and 3:1) and outdoor terrain.
• Climb, bend, and stand for extended periods of time.

Work Environment / Environmental Factors:

• Work in variable conditions including extreme (hot and cold) weather safely.
• Work with and around heavy construction equipment and excavations on landfills, industrial sites, power plants, gold mines, and coal ash sites.

Additional Information:

• Travel for extended periods, as necessary, up to 6 weeks. Typically, on rotation every 3-6 weeks.
• Must be available to work overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
• A background investigation if required. Please note that this investigation requires your consent and cooperation.
• This offer is also contingent on valid proof of completed OSHA 10 Hour Construction certificate as defined by Tetra Tech.

Compensation:

Pay commensurate with experience.
