Job description

Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator to set up and operate thermoforming machines. The role involves inserting proper molds and vacuum boxes, establishing heating and cooling cycles to ensure uniform part structures as indicated by work orders and/or blueprints.

Shift: 3:30pm-12AM M-Fr

Pay: 22.59-29.91

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the selected mold has all required options such as stacking ribs, feet, name plates, and logos.
  • Set up operations for various processes including routing, drilling, and trimming.
  • Place plastic sheets in the comet machine and activate heating, forming, and cooling cycles.
  • Remove formed sheets from the press and place additional material in the press for further cycling.
  • Trim the formed material to prescribed size using band or table saws and clean edges by a deburring process.
  • Visually inspect completed parts to ensure quality and apply bondo to holes or scars on shells to repair or improve appearance.
  • Return molds to the proper storage area after completion of production cycles.
  • Maintain an accurate count of parts produced and rejected during the shift and make appropriate entries on production records.
  • Place parts in an orderly pile and forward parts to the next production stage.
  • Cut scrap material for disposal and maintain a neat and orderly work area.
  • Provide maintenance on presses including lubricating and replacing cylinders as necessary.
  • Constantly look for means of improving the efficiency of the process in terms of inventory or use of materials.
  • Cut blanks from sheet stock as required in preparation for daily production requirements.
  • Box and mark all ABS parts as required.
  • Perform duties in a safe manner and always follow approved safety procedures.
  • Maintain an effective working relationship with fellow employees.
  • Maintain department in a neat and orderly manner.
  • Be aware of ISO standards and quality management systems.
  • Perform reasonably similar or related duties as assigned.
