Job description

Local Company on the south side of Holland that is a transformative passive energy management solutions manufacturer is seeking 2nd shift Machine Operators! This company is focused on providing their customers with high quality products at great value and works constantly to fill innovation gaps in the automotive industry with the newest technology.

Purpose of the job

A machine operator will set up, adjust work and verify conformance of saw operations to specifications. Complex machine set ups and critical operations will be performed to cut parts to specification.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Saw Setup: Loads raw material onto the saws according to standard work instruction. Downloads part program in machine terminal according to job and standard setup procedures.

First Article: Completes the first article of each job according to standard within the quality control plan. Maintains proper documentation of first articles and executes them in a timely manner.

Participates in continuous improvement activities: Supports Coastal Lean initiatives on cycle time reduction, down time, and/or change over time through participation in continuous improvement activities.

5s: Maintains 5s organizational standards within the Saw Operations on the production floor

Preventative Maintenance: Executes PM requirements of the saw operators according to a specific schedule. Uses knowledge of equipment to maintain reliability and cleanliness through preventative maintenance.

Job Rotation: May rotate and learn all saws on the production floor, both single-axis and dual-axis saws. Maintains flexibility to rotate and work where the schedule demands.

Troubleshoots, identifies, and implements systems and/or process needs and improvements. Helps to eliminate inefficiencies and reduce manufacturing costs through problem solving of product structure and product process.

Participates as a member of the Saw Operations Team: Participates in ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies. Coordinates work to ensure best practices with other team members. Communicates information to next-shift saw operators during a shift changeover briefing. Attends appropriate team meetings.


Qualifications:

  • Ability to repeatedly lift 25 pounds
  • Ability to stand or be on feet for an entire shift
