Job description

Spike Electric Controls is a leading manufacturer specializing in producing high-quality precision components and assemblies for various industries. We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced 3rd Shift Hydraulic Press Brake Operator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented and safety-conscious individual with a strong work ethic and dedication to quality.

Job Summary: As a 3rd Shift Hydraulic Press Brake Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining hydraulic press brake machines to produce high-quality parts while adhering to all safety protocols and production schedules. You will work closely with the production team to ensure the timely completion of orders and contribute to the overall efficiency of the manufacturing process.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate hydraulic press brake machines, following established procedures and safety protocols
  • Set up machines according to job specifications, including selecting appropriate dies, tooling, and material
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders to ensure accurate and efficient production
  • Perform quality inspections of finished products to verify conformance to specifications and maintain high-quality standards
  • Maintain accurate records of production, machine settings, and maintenance activities
  • Troubleshoot and resolve machine issues and perform routine preventative maintenance
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth production flow and timely order completion
  • Follow all safety guidelines and report any safety concerns or incidents to the supervisor
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, contributing to a safe and efficient work environment
  • Participate in ongoing training and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance skills and knowledge

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience operating hydraulic press brake machines
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders
  • Strong knowledge of press brake operations, tooling, and materials
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
  • Ability to use measuring instruments, such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot machine issues
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Commitment to following all safety guidelines and maintaining a clean and organized work area
  • Flexibility to work the 3rd shift schedule (6 PM to 2 AM) and overtime as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with CNC press brake machines
  • Forklift certification
