Job description

Ultimate Staffing is partnering with a metals manufacturing company in Norfolk, VA. They are looking to hire for a CNC Programmer with Mastercam. This position is a direct hire role paying between $90,000 - $105,000 a year.


The CAM Programmer will be well versed in computer aided design (preferably Inventor) and computer aided manufacturing (Mastercam). The person in this position will be required to interface with both engineering and manufacturing on a daily basis.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

  • Create new CAM programs utilizing Mastercam (toolpath programming for both milling and turning)

  • Design hard CNC work-holding fixtures (i.e. aluminum, steel) to be utilized for CNC milling operations

  • Design and create soft work-holding fixtures for secondary manufacturing processes and CMM measuring

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

  • Use design software to produce 2D and/or 3D designs

  • Incorporate manufacturing feedback into 3D model designs

  • Revise 2D Drawings as requested


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Education: Associate technical degree. Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering preferred

  • Work History: 5+ years as a power CAD user

  • Mastercam experience with Mill 3D and turning (single spindle)

  • Ability to analyze G-Code

  • CAD, 3D modeling, preferably Inventor

  • Work-holding design experience

  • Experience in manufacturing, preferably with CNC

  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication

  • Process oriented, sense of urgency, attention to detail

  • Strong problem solving skills PREFFERED SKILLS

  • Direct experience with 3D printing

  • Direct experience with measurement methods, preferably manual and with CMM machines

  • Mastercam 5-axis milling

  • Master Turning (Dual-Spindle)
