Overview

The Strategic Account Executive "SAE" serves as the senior level liaison for some of our most complex clients and is responsible for the overall growth and retention of those assigned accounts and for strategic planning with senior management; resolution of client issues to meet or exceed client expectations, renewals and contracting. You must have ability to travel up to 40% of the time and may require but is not limited to flights, overnights stay, and travel on short notice as deemed necessary by the Company.

Position Location

This is a remote-based position within the Continental US.

Responsibilities
  • For each client, develop and implement an effective business plan
  • Identify formal and informal decision makers; create a plan that meets the product, clinical, service, and financial needs of the client
  • The Strategic Account Executive must have the ability to operate independently and demonstrate good judgement in client interactions.
  • Develop effective presentations, proposals, and communications
  • Demonstrate an understanding of multiple facets of PBM business including contracting and underwriting
  • Understand and stay current with the health plan industry, specifically pharmacy benefit management
  • Focus on the customer and market
  • Translate marketplace information into the client's language and context
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, creating value after fully researching customer
  • Act as the owner of the client relationship, accountable for ultimate client satisfaction and loyalty
  • Develop and execute strategic solutions in conjunction with internal partners
  • Actively engage in the development of new opportunities for partnerships
  • Participate in the bid/renewal process, preparation, and presentation for current and prospective clients
  • Make sound business decisions/recommendations based upon an appropriate balance of thoughtful analysis of facts, experience, intuition, and the implications of that decision for the client
  • Work well with other team members by creating positive team dynamic-leveraging team talent and expertise appropriately by delegating tasks and projects.
  • Monitor client costs and trends
  • Oversee and ensure timely resolution of client issues
  • Oversee new client setup
  • Review Quarterly Performance Reviews with client
  • Ensure client retention and renewal
  • Other assigned duties or special projects as requested by management
Qualifications

EDUCATION:                             

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree required

EXPERIENCE:

  • Account Management and PBM experience required
  • 5+ years in a similar or related industry role. 
  • Comprehensive understanding of the PBM environment and broader healthcare system
  • Ability to manage client expectations based on company capabilities
  • Capability to successfully interface with customers, peers, cross-functional department personnel, and senior management
  • Accountability for individual and team initiatives to service the client
  • Ability to analyze issues/problems from multiple perspectives while anticipating the future and make recommendations to support the client and company in achieving mutual objectives
  • Effective communication in highly visible situations
  • Ability to deliver technical information in a formal training environment
  • Identification of growth opportunities with the client; management of profit/loss of assigned accounts; accountability for individual and team objectives
  • Strong experience in managing an extensive book of business

The anticipated base salary range for this position is [$120,000  - $135,000]. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors. This range reflects our good-faith estimate of what we expect to pay for this role at the time of posting.
