Position: Designer/Drafter III
Pay: $75k+ DOE
Location: Tulsa, OK
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Designer/Drafter III to lead the development of detailed fabrication drawings and bills of materials for shell and tube heat exchangers, pressure vessels, towers, and other industrial equipment. This senior-level role requires extensive experience in industrial drafting, a strong understanding of ASME fabrication standards, and the ability to work independently while mentoring junior drafting personnel.
Responsibilities
• Review customer specifications, engineering packages, and project documentation to identify fabrication requirements
• Create detailed fabrication drawings for shell and tube heat exchangers, pressure vessels, towers, and related industrial equipment
• Develop part drawings, layouts, and fabrication details using AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks
• Generate complete bills of materials (BOMs) to support purchasing and manufacturing
• Coordinate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to ensure designs meet project specifications and fabrication requirements
• Review and verify fabrication drawings completed by other drafters for accuracy and quality
• Train and mentor less experienced drafting personnel while providing technical guidance and support
• Ensure designs comply with ASME Section VIII, Division 1 requirements and applicable industry standards
• Maintain accurate drawing revisions and project documentation throughout the design process
• Perform other drafting and design duties as assigned
Qualifications
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Associate degree in Drafting, Design Technology, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred
• Formal training and advanced proficiency with AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks required
• Minimum of 5 years of experience designing or detailing shell and tube heat exchangers, pressure vessels, or similar industrial equipment
• Strong knowledge of ASME Section VIII, Division 1 fabrication standards and industry best practices
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects and deadlines
• Experience with RCS software is a plus
• Strong blueprint reading and technical drawing interpretation skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities

Physical Requirements
• Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer
