About This RoleYou will serve as the Assistant Manager for the 2nd Shift, playing a crucial role in ensuring the success of our extended day program. As a front-line leader, you will be responsible for bridging the gap between the high-energy afternoon activities and the essential preparation required for the next day's success. Working closely with the Shift Manager, you will provide vital support to educators and help maintain a safe, engaging, and high-quality environment for every child.
What You'll DoYour Mission (Supportive Leadership)
- Operational Support: Assist the Shift Manager in providing visible leadership as a key administrator on duty during the 2nd shift and collaborate closely with educators to ensure a seamless daily operation.
- Team Collaboration: Actively foster a collaborative and positive work culture among 2nd-shift educators and personnel, promoting a sense of community and shared responsibility.
- Safety Protocols: Enforce all academy policies, safety protocols, and SC DSS regulations to create a secure and nurturing environment for students.
- Morning Readiness: Take ownership of preparing the facility and documentation to ensure a smooth transition to the 1st shift morning team.
- Student Engagement: Directly oversee the implementation of academic and enrichment activities, ensuring students remain engaged in a positive learning environment.
- Daily Health Records: Maintain the daily log of student wellness and incident reports during the 6:30 PM โ 10:30 PM window.
- Student Support: Provide direct support for studentsโ physical care needs, ensuring high standards of hygiene and comfort as part of the "Morning Prep" routine.
- Parent Communication: Assist in greeting families and communicating daily student updates or incidents to parents and leadership.
Requirements- Experience: Between 3 to 7 years of experience in an educational setting, with demonstrated experience in a lead teacher or supervisory-support capacity.
- Educational Background: Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field required; Bachelorโs degree preferred.
- Professional Competencies: Proactive self-starter with a growth mindset and a commitment to maintaining a nurturing environment.
- Skills: Strong understanding of child development and positive behavior management techniques.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills for building professional relationships with staff and parents.
- Essentials: Must pass all required SC DSS background checks and clearings.
- Educational Background: Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field required; Bachelorโs degree preferred.
Nice To Haves- CNA Certification & Experience: A current South Carolina CNA certification and prior nursing assistant experience are highly preferred for overseeing evening health protocols and student wellness.
