What is a 200k engineering?

A 200K Engineering job refers to an engineering position that pays an annual salary of $200,000 or more. These roles are typically found in high-demand fields such as software engineering, artificial intelligence, data engineering, and specialized areas of mechanical or electrical engineering. High salaries in engineering are often associated with extensive experience, advanced technical skills, leadership responsibilities, and work in competitive industries like tech, finance, or aerospace.

What are some common challenges faced by engineers working on high-value ($200K+) engineering projects, and how can they be addressed?

Engineers working on high-value projects often encounter challenges such as complex stakeholder management, strict budget controls, and tight project timelines. Effective communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams are essential to ensure all project requirements are met. Proactively identifying risks and implementing robust project management practices can help mitigate issues before they escalate, ensuring successful project delivery and client satisfaction.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a 200k engineering professional, and why are they important?

To excel as a high-earning engineer, you typically need an advanced degree in engineering, strong problem-solving abilities, and extensive experience in your field. Mastery of relevant technical tools such as CAD software, simulation platforms, and industry-specific certifications (like PE or PMP) is often required. Exceptional communication, leadership, and project management skills distinguish top performers in these roles. These competencies are crucial for successfully leading complex projects, driving innovation, and delivering high-impact results in demanding engineering environments.

What is the difference between 200K Engineering vs Software Engineer?

About Verisoul

Verisoul stops fake accounts and fraud in the era of AI. We distinguish real humans from bots and bad actors for high-growth companies like Clay, Augment Code, and Morning Consult.

Our Trajectory (Last 12 Months):
  • 6x YoY Growth: 6x ARR growth (to $2M) and scaled to 100+ customers.

  • Product Dominance: 80% competitive win rate; we catch 70-105% more fraud than legacy tools.

  • Strong Backing: Raised $8.8M Series A

You and Your Role

Build the deep memory of the system. Analyze history, reputation, and patterns to catch sophisticated fraud that real-time checks miss.

What You’ll Do:
  • Architect Reputation Systems: Build batch and nearline pipelines to score risk across identity attributes (email, phone, ISP) and lay the foundation for a scalable intelligence knowledge graph.

  • Deploy Graph Analytics: Use network science—including centrality, community detection, and embeddings—to detect synthetic accounts and visualize complex fraud clusters.

  • Develop Probabilistic Models: Engineer scoring algorithms that integrate historical reputation data and quantify uncertainty for dynamic entities like residential IPs.

  • Innovate & Mine Data: Conduct open-ended discovery on terabytes of historical data to invent new features and uncover evolving patterns in fraud network organization.

What You’ll Bring:
  • Experience: 4+ years as a full-stack engineer

  • Big Data Engineering: Experience with batch processing, data pipelines, and warehousing.

  • Entity Resolution: Understanding of how to link data points (email, IP, device) into a cohesive identity.

  • Mathematical Intuition: You understand probability, entropy, or graph theory and can apply them to messy real-world data.

  • Location: In-person in Austin, TX.

Who You’ll Work With:
  • Engineering Team: To define the logic behind risk scores.

  • Platform Team: To make intelligence accessible via APIs.

Compensation: $200,000 - $250,000 + Equity Grant
  • Base Salary: $190,000 - $240,000 fixed annual salary (All Base)

  • 401k match: 4% match of compensation (~$8,000)

  • Equity Grant: 0.2% - 0.4% with 4-year vesting
