Job description

Bathrooming & Feeding Support Para– Special Education School (Brooklyn, NY 11219)

We are seeking a caring, patient, and reliable individual to provide bathrooming, feeding, and classroom support for students in our Special Education School.

Location: Brooklyn, NY 11219

Schedule:

  • Monday–Thursday: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM

  • Friday: 9:00 AM – 1:30 PM

Responsibilities include:

  • Supervising students during bathroom routines to ensure proper hygiene and appropriate bathroom use.

  • Assisting students with toileting as needed while maintaining their dignity, privacy, and safety.

  • Changing students, if necessary, following proper hygiene and safety procedures.

  • Providing feeding assistance during mealtimes and monitoring students' safety while eating.

  • Encouraging independence by providing assistance only when needed.

  • Assisting teachers and classroom staff with classroom activities and student support when personal care assistance is not needed.

  • Following each student's individualized care plan and all school policies.

  • Communicating with teachers and staff regarding any concerns or observations.

Qualifications:

  • Patient, compassionate, and dependable.

  • Comfortable providing personal care, including toileting, changing, and feeding assistance.

  • Experience working with children with special needs is preferred but not required.

  • Ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and a positive attitude.
