Job description

Position Summary

Combined Systems Inc. is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented 1099 Cybersecurity Compliance Specialist to assist with efforts related to NIST SP 800171 and CMMC (Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification) requirements. This position will provide hands-on experience supporting cybersecurity compliance activities, documentation, and audit preparation in a manufacturing environment supporting government and defense contracts.

You will work closely with internal stakeholders for continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in reviewing and mapping existing cybersecurity controls against NIST SP 800171 and CMMC requirements
  • Support the development, organization, and maintenance of policies, procedures, and security documentation
  • Help gather and validate evidence for cybersecurity compliance and audit readiness
  • Participate in risk assessments, gap analyses, and remediation tracking
  • Document system security practices and assist with implementation tracking
  • Support IT and leadership teams with compliance-related research and reporting
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive company and government-related information

Required Qualifications

Currently enrolled in or recently completed a degree program in:

  • Cybersecurity
  • Information Technology
  • Computer Science
  • Information Systems, or a related field
  • Basic understanding of information security principles
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to document technical and procedural information clearly
  • Professional communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Willingness to learn regulatory and compliance frameworks
