About the Opportunity

This is an opportunity for a Real Estate Paralegal to join a nationally active title and 1031 exchange platform. This role sits at the center of the transaction process, supporting both title and exchange work across a high-volume, multi-state environment. The position requires a strong understanding of real estate closings, with the ability to manage details, timelines, and documentation with precision.


About the Company

Our client is a North New Jersey-based firm with a national presence, specializing in title insurance and 1031 exchange services. The platform supports both residential and commercial transactions, with a strong focus on accuracy, compliance, and a high-touch client experience.


Important Note

Direct real estate closing experience is required for this position. Candidates without hands-on exposure to real estate transactions, title, or settlement processes will not be considered.


Role & Responsibilities

Title & Closing Transactions

  • Support residential and commercial real estate closings from contract through post-closing
  • Review and prepare closing documents, including HUD-1 / ALTA statements
  • Coordinate with attorneys, lenders, brokers, and clients to ensure smooth transactions
  • Manage closing timelines and ensure all required documentation is received and complete
  • Assist with clearing title and resolving issues prior to closing

Title Curative Work

  • Review title reports and identify issues requiring resolution
  • Work with internal and external parties to clear title exceptions
  • Track and follow up on outstanding items to ensure timely resolution

1031 Exchange Support

  • Assist with the coordination and tracking of 1031 exchange transactions
  • Ensure all documentation is properly prepared and executed
  • Monitor timelines and support compliance with IRS requirements
  • Coordinate with Qualified Intermediary (QI) teams as needed

Legal & Administrative Support

  • Maintain organized and accurate transaction files
  • Draft correspondence and assist with client communications
  • Support internal teams with documentation, tracking, and reporting
  • Assist with general administrative tasks tied to transaction flow

Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in real estate closings, title, or settlement services
  • Direct experience reviewing and preparing HUD-1 / ALTA statements
  • Strong understanding of the real estate transaction lifecycle
  • Experience with title review and curative work preferred
  • Familiarity with 1031 exchanges is a plus
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple transactions in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate across multiple parties
