Job description

Growing full-service firm looking to add a talented Senior Mechanical Engineer/Project Manager to their Columbus team!



Responsibilities:

  • Project management responsibilities (complete engineering design, survey, facility assessments, construction administration, site walks, and field service)
  • Lead Power and Utility project designs
  • Provide project oversight
  • Mentor/train junior staff
  • Assist with business development
  • Perform administrative duties (workflow tasks, scheduling, QA/QC assurance, keeping project on time and on budget)
  • Review engineering deliverables for value engineering, constructability, and accuracy
  • Provide technical leadership in mechanical design for power generation and utility projects
  • Provide input to instrumentation and control systems design, material selections, opinion of probable costs, process inputs, plant classification, hazardous area classifications, constructability reviews, maintainability & operability review

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 8+ years of experience in Power Generation, Energy, Utilities, Industrial, Manufacturing and/or Oil and Gas
  • PE License preferred
  • Experience managing engineers preferred
  • Experience creating design standards, details, and templates
  • Experience working with clients during project conception
  • Working knowledge of codes (mechanical/plumbing), NFPA, Industrial Ventilation Codes, ASME Standards (ASME B.31)
  • Extensive experience with Industrial HVAC Design, Process Piping Design, P&ID’s, High Pressure Natural Gas system, Power Generation, Hydrogen system design and storage, Steam and High temperature system design, and Thermal stress analysis
  • Proficient in CAD, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint Outlook
  • Ability to travel for building surveys, assessments and construction administration
