Job description

Client Account Sales Lead – Public Utilities

Company: Diversified Technology, Inc. (DTI)
Location: Columbus, OH / Surrounding Region Preferred
Travel: Frequent travel to Columbus required

The Opportunity

Diversified Technology, Inc. (DTI) is seeking an experienced Client Account Sales Lead – Public Utilities to grow and expand strategic client relationships within our regulated utility portfolio.

This is a high-impact, client-facing growth role for a proven technology consulting sales and account leader who knows how to turn an established client relationship into new business. The successful candidate will build executive relationships, identify account whitespace, expand into new business units and technology areas, and convert client needs into new projects, requisitions, consulting engagements, and SOWs.

We are looking for a relationship-driven hunter/farmer with direct public utility sales experience—someone equally comfortable developing executive relationships, navigating procurement, working with strategic partners, and closing new business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Protect and grow existing strategic public utility accounts while generating net-new revenue.
  • Build relationships with Directors, VPs, executive sponsors, procurement leaders, technology executives, and business-unit leadership.
  • Identify account whitespace and expand DTI into new business units, technology towers, and consulting services.
  • Sell technology consulting and professional services across ERP, EAM, CRM/CIS, cloud, systems integration, data and analytics, PMO, QA/testing, application services, and technology staffing.
  • Lead opportunity discovery, qualification, presentations, proposals, RFP responses, SOW development, pricing, negotiations, and closing.
  • Develop strategic account plans and map key stakeholders, programs, partners, technology environments, and expansion opportunities.
  • Navigate complex enterprise procurement, contractual, and commercial processes.
  • Collaborate effectively with global systems integrators, consulting partners, and technology/software vendors.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline, account intelligence, activity, and forecasting in Salesforce.
  • Establish and grow executive-to-executive relationships between DTI leadership and strategic clients.

Required Qualifications

  • 8–10+ years of enterprise technology consulting sales, strategic account management, or business development experience.
  • Direct experience selling into regulated electric, gas, water, or multi-service public utilities.
  • Demonstrated success growing an existing utility account beyond the initial project or program into new business units, technology areas, or service offerings.
  • Proven ability to build relationships at the Director, VP, and executive/C-suite level.
  • Experience selling consulting, professional services, systems integration, technology implementation, managed/support services, and/or technology staffing.
  • Strong understanding of large-scale utility transformation and enterprise technology initiatives.
  • Experience navigating complex procurement organizations and enterprise sales cycles.
  • Strong opportunity development, negotiation, presentation, pipeline management, forecasting, and closing skills.
  • Experience working with global systems integrators and technology partners.
  • Salesforce or comparable CRM experience.
  • Ability to travel frequently to Columbus, Ohio. Candidates located in Columbus or the surrounding region are strongly preferred.

Who We Want

We are looking for someone who sees an established client relationship and immediately asks:

“Where else can we create value?”

You should know how to protect existing business while actively developing new relationships, uncovering opportunities, and turning account whitespace into measurable revenue.

If you have successfully grown strategic accounts within the regulated public utility industry and want an opportunity to directly influence DTI's growth strategy, we want to hear from you.
