General Purpose


Instructor will teach a Phlebotomy course in the MRI Program, and the course will prepare students for appropriate certifications. The instructor must possess the ability to work within a diverse student population of different socioeconomic status and educational backgrounds.


Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities


• Deliver the curriculum based on specific health-related content to meet the needs of adult learners and assist them to successfully obtain appropriate certifications.

• Address the needs of the students by providing a stimulating environment that encourages students' participation, interpersonal skills development, and concepts of good patient care.

• Perform other duties assigned by the Program Director

• Teach Phlebotomy/Venipuncture skills

• Report to the Program Director


Requirements:



Knowledge, Skills & Abilities


• Experience using multiple approaches to teaching and learning, such as incorporating technology, service learning, contextualized instruction, multiple levels, universal design for learning, or other research-based and innovative approaches that support increased student success.

• Adherence to institutional standard of conduct within internal and external environments affiliated with the institution.

• Demonstrate the ability to work within a diverse population.

• Demonstrate time management, flexibility, and attentiveness to detail.

• Ability to interpret basic arithmetic, measuring units, and math computations.

• Ability to work effectively under pressure and to meet deadlines.

• Ability to establish rapport within the campus community.

• Ability to develop and complete projects with minimal supervision.


Education and/or Experience


• Must have valid current Phlebotomy credentials.

• Teaching experience is a plus.


Physical Demands


• Frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, to include supplies and equipment.

• Required to stand for longer than usual periods of time.

• Usage of technology is required.


Work Schedule


• Wednesday nights 5pm-9:30pm starting August 31st
