Aerospace Mechanical Integration Specialist

Who We Are

At Venturi Space, we are redefining mobility beyond Earth. As part of an international engineering organization with decades of expertise in high-performance automotive, motorsports, and advanced electric propulsion systems, we are developing the next generation of energy storage solutions that will power lunar exploration.

Working in close collaboration with our European engineering and manufacturing teams, our U.S. operation is establishing the manufacturing capability that will support future lunar mobility programs. Every component we build is engineered to perform in one of the most demanding environments imaginable, where precision, reliability, and uncompromising quality are essential.

We are seeking professionals who take pride in exceptional craftsmanship, possess a relentless commitment to quality, and are motivated by the opportunity to contribute to the future of space exploration.

Position Overview

Venturi Space is seeking an experienced Aerospace Mechanical Integration Specialist to support the manufacturing, integration, and verification of high-reliability mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies for advanced spaceflight energy storage systems.

This is not a traditional assembly position. It is a highly skilled technical role requiring exceptional mechanical aptitude, disciplined execution, and a deep understanding of precision manufacturing practices. The successful candidate will be responsible for integrating mission-critical hardware where every assembly operation directly contributes to system performance, reliability, and safety.

Working within an ISO 8 cleanroom environment, the Aerospace Mechanical Integration Specialist will partner closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to execute complex builds while ensuring strict compliance with engineering requirements, aerospace quality standards, and documented manufacturing processes.

The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in aerospace, defense, motorsports, or other high-reliability manufacturing environments and thrives in a Detailed organization where innovation, continuous improvement, and technical excellence are expected.

Key Responsibilities

Precision Mechanical Integration

  • Perform precision integration and assembly of complex aerospace hardware in accordance with engineering documentation and quality requirements.

  • Assemble high-precision bolted structures utilizing controlled torque methodologies, locking devices, threaded inserts, helicoils, and aerospace fastening techniques.

  • Integrate structural assemblies, precision mechanical systems, and electro-mechanical subassemblies requiring tight tolerances and exacting workmanship.

  • Assemble advanced lithium-ion battery modules and battery pack systems, including cell integration, insulation systems, structural enclosures, electrical interconnects, and supporting hardware.

  • Execute electro-mechanical integration activities including cable routing, harness installation, connector termination, connector mating, and mechanical retention.

Technical Execution

  • Interpret and execute work from engineering drawings, GD&T, CAD models, Bills of Material (BOMs), manufacturing procedures, and evolving work instructions.

  • Verify dimensional conformity using calibrated precision measuring equipment including torque wrenches, calipers, micrometers, indicators, multimeters, and specialized inspection tools.

  • Identify assembly concerns, tolerance issues, and manufacturability improvements before they impact production quality.

  • Exercise sound technical judgment while maintaining strict adherence to engineering intent and configuration control.

Quality & Documentation

  • Maintain complete manufacturing traceability through accurate completion of production documentation including:

    • Manufacturing Travelers

    • Work Orders

    • Inspection Records

    • Test Documentation

    • Nonconformance Reports (NCRs)

    • Rework and Repair Documentation

  • Support in-process and final inspections to verify compliance with engineering requirements, critical characteristics, torque specifications, and acceptance criteria.

  • Ensure all manufacturing activities comply with AS9100, ISO 9001, and company Quality Management System requirements.

Cleanroom & Safety Compliance

  • Perform hardware integration within an ISO 8 cleanroom while maintaining strict contamination control practices.

  • Follow ESD controls, battery safety protocols, insulation handling procedures, and foreign object debris (FOD) prevention requirements.

  • Maintain clean workstations, calibrated tools, and controlled materials in accordance with aerospace manufacturing standards.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Partner with Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, and Supply Chain to resolve technical issues and improve manufacturing efficiency.

  • Participate in root cause investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Provide technical feedback that improves work instructions, tooling, manufacturing methods, and overall product quality.

  • Support prototype development, process maturation, and transition into repeatable production operations.

  • Demonstrate leadership through professionalism, technical expertise, accountability, and commitment to operational excellence.

Applicants must be legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States and must not require sponsorship now or in the future.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree or technical certification in Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related discipline preferred.

  • Five (5) or more years of experience performing precision mechanical integration or assembly within aerospace, defense, space, motorsports, medical device, semiconductor, or other high-reliability manufacturing environments.

  • Demonstrated expertise assembling tight-tolerance mechanical systems using aerospace-quality assembly practices.

  • Extensive experience with precision bolted joints, torque-controlled fastening methods, helicoils, threaded inserts, and locking features.

  • Proven ability to interpret engineering drawings, assembly documentation, and GD&T.

  • Experience working within AS9100, ISO 9001, or equivalent regulated Quality Management Systems.

  • Proficiency using calibrated precision measurement and inspection equipment.

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing traceability, documentation control, and configuration management.

  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to consistently produce defect-free work.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within multidisciplinary technical teams.

  • Comfortable working in an evolving startup environment where adaptability, initiative, and ownership are expected.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with one or more of the following qualifications are strongly encouraged to apply:

  • Experience assembling lithium-ion battery modules or advanced energy storage systems.
