Job description

Job Description
Summary:
Are you a hands-on leader who takes pride in precision, quality, and building high-performing teams? Our Assembly Inspection Supervisor plays a key role in ensuring the mechanical and electromechanical assemblies we build meet the highest standards of safety, reliability, and workmanship. This is your opportunity to lead a team of skilled inspectors, collaborate across departments, and directly influence the quality of products delivered to our customers.
What You'll Be Doing
In this dynamic role, you'll lead the charge in driving world-class inspection excellence across assembly operations. You'll guide a team of skilled inspectors through daily in-process, final, and hold-point inspections-balancing production flow with unwavering compliance. Your expertise in drawings, GD&T, torque specifications, and acceptance standards will empower the team to maintain consistency, precision, and top-tier workmanship.
You'll be hands-on in ensuring inspections are executed flawlessly. From verifying torque tool calibration to overseeing precise dimensional checks with calipers, micrometers, and height gauges, you'll uphold the integrity of every component. You'll validate GD&T features such as flatness, perpendicularity, and concentricity, while ensuring complete traceability and proper assembly progression throughout each build stage. Your oversight keeps every detail aligned-cleanliness, fastener installation, adhesives, fit-up, and more.
Quality and documentation excellence will be at the heart of your leadership. You'll champion accurate inspection records, ensure thorough documentation of nonconformances, and review inspection data before work progresses. By promoting proper tool care and calibration practices, you'll help sustain a high-performance inspection environment.
We'd Love to Hear from Candidates with:
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE/NRC "Q" Clearance within one year of hire.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical degree, military technical experience, or a mechanical/manufacturing/quality apprenticeship preferred.
• Experience performing assembly or in-process inspections in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong ability to read engineering drawings, GD&T symbols, and assembly specifications.
• Hands-on experience with torque tools, precision measurement instruments, and inspection documentation systems.
• Leadership, mentoring, or supervisory experience is a plus.
A Successful Candidate Brings:
• Strong understanding of GD&T principles.
• Knowledge of mechanical assembly processes, fasteners, torque sequences, and workmanship standards.
• Familiarity with nonconformance documentation and inspection plans.
In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
This position will require a pre-employment background check and a pre-employment drug test.
