Job description

Leapros Skilled Trades is actively hiring Area Operations Manager - NAO in Columbus, OH. The Area Operations Manager oversees the daily operations and financial performance of multiple regional offices, specifically in the Columbus and Cedar Rapids areas, to ensure long-term profitability and growth. This role is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, recruiting and developing high-performing teams, and implementing strategic operational methods within the telecommunications and low-voltage sectors. The ideal candidate is a seasoned leader with extensive construction management experience and a commitment to maintaining a safety-first, family-centric culture.

Annual Salary: $170,000 to $185,000 Annually BOE

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations for multiple regional offices, ensuring full compliance with company standards and policies.
  • Drive regional profitability by analyzing financial performance and implementing tailored growth strategies for each office.
  • Generate new customers and identify business opportunities to expand market presence across the designated geographic areas.
  • Recruit, train, and develop regional employees to create cohesive, high-performing teams and foster professional growth.
  • Monitor and improve performance, productivity, and efficiency across all regional offices through consistent operational strategies.
  • Prepare and present regular operational performance reports and business outcomes to senior management, highlighting key insights.
  • Direct operational aspects including sales, project management, field operations, and customer service for the region.
  • Oversee project management execution using the Work in Progress (WIP) report system to maintain consistency and profitability.
  • Forecast labor needs and manage staffing levels to maintain balanced workloads throughout the year across all offices.
  • Collaborate with corporate departments such as HR, IT, and QA/QC to ensure business objectives and legal compliance are met.

Qualifications:

  • 7 to 10 years of telecommunications or low-voltage management and revenue growth experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the construction or telecommunications industry.
  • Proven track record of managing projects on time and on budget with a high degree of safety and quality.
  • Must be based in Columbus, OH, with the ability to participate in regular travel to the Cedar Rapids area.
  • Experience with security, audio-visual, videoconferencing, or wireless communications systems is preferred.
  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to develop financial objectives, business plans, and market-specific forecasts.
  • High School Diploma or GED required; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess local market conditions and identify current and prospective sales opportunities.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to stand, sit, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard.
  • Ability to travel frequently to various regional office locations and job sites.
  • May need to occasionally climb stairs and/or ladders during site visits.
  • Occasional stooping, kneeling, and bending in various work environments.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds on occasion.
  • Specific vision abilities required for computer work and reviewing detailed financial reports.

Pay Transparency:

The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $170,000 to $185,000 annually, based on relevant factors such as experience, skills, education, internal equity, and geographic location. Final compensation will be determined during the interview process by the hiring authority.
