Job description

At the Mid-Ohio Food Collective (MOFC), we believe that ending hunger requires a community effort. We're looking for a Social Media Intern who can go beyond the basics to create high-impact, authentic content. This is a hands-on role where you'll be in the field capturing real stories, experimenting with new trends, and helping us turn followers into advocates.

What You'll Do
  • Create with Purpose: Develop and post engaging content for Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, and X.

  • On-Site Content Capture: Head out to our markets and community events to capture the photos and videos that bring our mission to life.

  • Short-Form Video: Lead the way on Reels and TikToks-from filming and editing to choosing the right audio.

  • Collaborate: Partner with our graphic designer to ensure our social feed is cohesive, professional, and visually compelling.

  • Community Engagement: Manage the conversation. You'll be the voice of MOFC in the comments, building connections with our supporters.

  • Trend & Performance Tracking: Stay on top of what's trending in the nonprofit space and use analytics to see what resonates with our audience.

Who You Are
  • A Strategic Creator: You're currently studying Marketing, Communications, PR, or a related field and understand how to build a brand voice.

  • Tech-Savvy: You're comfortable with CapCut and Adobe Creative Suite and know your way around native platform editors.

  • An Impactful Writer: You can write a compelling caption that inspires action, whether it's for a donor on LinkedIn or a volunteer on IG.

  • Reliable & Proactive: You can manage your own deadlines and aren't afraid to take the initiative on a new content idea.

  • Portfolio-Ready: You have examples of social media work or video content you've produced.

The Schedule

This internship follows the flow of the year, offering flexibility around your classes:

  • Summer (May-July): 28 hrs/week (Our peak season!)
  • Fall (Aug-Dec): 20 hrs/week
  • Winter (Jan): 10 hrs/week
  • Spring (Feb-Apr): 20 hrs/week
