Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Specialists to provide personalized healthcare and support services to senior clients. The ideal candidate will assist seniors in maintaining their health, safety, and independence while delivering respectful, person-centered care. Key Responsibilities
Assist seniors with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.
Administer medications as prescribed, following all safety protocols and documentation requirements.
Monitor health status, vital signs, and report any changes or concerns to healthcare professionals or supervisors.
Support seniors in managing chronic conditions and following care plans.
Assist with meal planning and preparation, ensuring nutritional needs are met.
Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental and emotional well-being.
Help with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a safe and clean environment.
Support seniors in engaging with community activities, appointments, and social outings.
Maintain accurate documentation of care provided and health observations.
Follow all health and safety regulations, including infection control protocols.
Collaborate with family members, healthcare providers, and team members to ensure comprehensive care.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; relevant healthcare certifications (e.g., Certified Nursing Assistant, Home Health Aide) preferred.
Prior experience working with seniors or in healthcare support roles preferred.
Knowledge of basic healthcare practices, medication administration, and safety procedures.
Excellent communication, patience, and empathy.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (if required for client visits).
Ability to lift and assist seniors with mobility as needed.
Working Conditions
