Job description

Bella Terrace is seeking a Social Service Director. The Social Services Director provides planning, assessing, coordinating, and implementation of services to enhance each resident’s social and psycho-social well-being and assure that care standards are met, and the highest degree of quality resident care is provided at all times. The position must function as a team member, team leader, and supervisor to ensure that work is accomplished, and quality care is delivered, supporting team members and taking direction from the Executive Director.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops and maintains a good working rapport with other direct caregivers to assure their participation and support of all programs/services to benefit the residents’ psycho social well being.
  • Participates in all care conferences and attends any other meetings re: resident care planning and/or center policy-making that affects the caring community concept.
  • Serves as the resident’s advocate at all times with all direct care giving staff to assure that the resident’s needs are being met at all times and being aware of any changes in a resident’s condition.
  • Assist in identifying and correcting problem areas and determines the proper approach to any questions.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all resident/family information at all times.
  • Responsible for the performance of all psycho-social functions.
  • Maintain proper documentation and perform general duties.
  • Attend and participate in scheduled training, education classes, and orientation programs to maintain and enhance the quality of care.
  • Perform other related activities as assigned or requested.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be MEPAP certified or be willing to sign up for the training
  • Must have previous experience as an Activity Director
  • Previous long-term care experience.
